Liebherr's Largest Port Handling Machine Delivered

Liebherr has produced and delivered its largest port handling machine, for DaFeng Port in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. The LH 150 ET Gantry Port Litronic is the largest, electrically-operated Liebherr port handling machine with gantry undercarriage. The entire port handling machine has been supplied by Liebherr: All components were developed, produced and tested by Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH in Kirchdorf an der Iller, Germany; from the attachments to the work equipment, the hydraulic cab elevation and upper carriage.

BP Orders BOS 2600 Offshore Crane

Ship cranes manufacturer Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH together with China's Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard signed a contract concerning the delivery of a board offshore crane, type BOS 2600.The German maritime cranes maker said BP will use the crane for supply and maintenance tasks on a jack-up accommodation platform off the coast of West Africa.The BOS 2600 is a compact and function-orientated crane design within the well-known Liebherr Offshore crane series and therefore the ideal solutions for platforms where space on deck is limited.“Because of the particular requirements of this project, we are pleased that CIMC Raffles awarded us the contract for the project.

Large-scale conversion project on offshore platform Molikpaq operated by Sakhalin Energy.While the refit of heavy lift capacity onboard an offshore rig might sound mundane, Liebherr’s project to replace and modernize cranes on the offshore platform Molikpaq operated by Sakhalin Energy, a unit subjected to some of the world’s harshest conditions, is anything but mundane.The modernization project on Sakhalin Energy’s offshore platform off the Russian island of Sakhalin includes two ram luffing offshore cranes, type RL 1500 that are going to be completely renewed.

Liebherr´s New Floating Crane Goes to Market

The latest four rope grab crane development of Liebherr´s floating crane segment is going to be installed on a converted handymax bulk carrier (45,000 DWT) with a total length of 185 m and a breadth of 30.5 m. The ship will be retrofitted with the two Liebherr bulk handling cranes at the Turkish shipyard Kuzey Star Shipyard Tuzla / Istanbul. After completion of the conversion in early 2019, the ship will be used as a transshipment solution for grain handling in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.The ordered cranes are designed for high-speed bulk handling and will be installed on 10 m eccentric platforms in order to increase the maximum outreach up to 36 m. The maximum lifting capacity of the high-performance CBG 360´s is 36 tons.

Liebherr Sells Knuckle Boom Cranes to China

Liebherr offshore crane division has recently signed a contract with long-time partner DALIAN SHIPYARD (DSIC Offshore) for two state-of-the-art ram luffing knuckle boom cranes of the type RL-K 4200-100 LIT to be delivered for the new high-level semi-submersible BT 4000. "We have already successfully delivered around 40 machines to DSIC to date, but this contract marks a new milestone for us at the Chinese offshore market," informs Gordon Clark, Sales Director of the Liebherr offshore crane division.

Subsea Crane Takes a Long Journey

Last September the test bed in Rostock was the stage of a single lift of the RL-K 7500 subsea crane. The same crane was then loaded and shipped to the South Korean customer. On December 21, a new Liebherr RL-K 7500 started its long journey to South Korea. after waiting since the middle of September for its shipment at the pier of the Liebherr factory in Rostock. Mid-December, the transport ship arrived at the Liebherr factory, and the RL-K 7500 was loaded aboard together with another model of Liebherr’s range of knuckle boom cranes, the RL-K 4200.

Liebherr 1000 EC-H Tower Cranes in Demand Worldwide

Since its successful launch of the 1000 EC-H at the Bauma 2013 in Munich, the largest standard crane in the EC-H series has been proving its worth in prestigious projects around the world. Several 1000 EC-H cranes are currently operating in countries such as the Netherlands, Great Britain, Mexico, United States of America, Peru and Russia. One of their current sites in Europe is the new-build of the Erasmus Hospital at Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The construction of the new Erasmus Hospital in Rotterdam in the Netherlands is just one of the sites at which the 1000 EC-H 40 Litronic is currently operating. The 1000 EC-H managed to outscore its rivals during its transport and erection time at this site in the centre of Rotterdam.

Liebherr-Werk Biberach Wins Orders from Australia & New Zealand

Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH has managed to win several orders in Australia and New Zealand. During the last few weeks four luffing jib cranes from the HC-L series and a top-slewing crane from the EC-H series have left Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH for the voyage down under. Liebherr's exclusive distributor in Australia, Morrow Equipment Co. L.L.C. based in Caringbah, NSW near Sydney, has expanded its crane fleet. Morrow continues to expand its hire fleet with the purchase of two new 542 HC-L 18/36 Litronic cranes and a used 540 HC-L model. The high level of usage of the existing hire fleet, positive signals from the market and several pending large projects in the cities of Sydney and Brisbane were the reasons behind the purchases.

This combined offshore and mobile harbor crane, designed by Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH, has been delivered to the customer in spring of 2013. It combines know-how and existing technologies of the offshore crane department and the mobile harbor crane department, thus of two of the company’s maritime business divisions.

Liebherr Wins Significant Ship Crane Order

Liebherr reports that there has been a positive trend in the heavy lift crane segement, a sentiment confirmed by a number of significant contracts recorded of late, including a contract for the delivery of six heavy lift ship cranes for the German shipping company Rickmers. Four of the heavy lift cranes are type CBB 4700 with a lifting capacity of 450 tons and the remaining two are type CBB 3450 with a lifting capacity of 120 tons. The six heavy lift cranes are being built by Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH and will be delivered in 2014.

Port of Hueneme Christens Mobile Harbor Crane

Port leadership joined with Ports America to formally christen the stevedoring company’s newest heavy-lift addition to the Port of Hueneme, a Liebherr LHM 420 Litronic Mobile Harbor Crane. The new crane is the second Ports America crane to be put into action at the port. “This 376 ton mobile harbor crane greatly increases shore side productivity in tandem with our existing crane and increases our flexibility to work more than one ship at a time,” said Ports America’s site manager Kevin Beirne.

Liebherr Delivers Heavy Lift Offshore Crane For “Vidar”

In June, components weighing up to 420 tonnes each for Liebherr’s new heavy lift offshore crane CAL 45000-1200 Litronic  were loaded from Liebherr MCCtec Rostock GmbH onto two ships in the port of Rostock. These components were subsequently transported to the Crist shipyard in the Polish town of Gdynia. There, the crane is currently being assembled on the “Vidar”, an installation vessel belonging to Hochtief Solutions. After completion of assembly works later this year the crane will be used for the installation of offshore wind power stations.

RL-K 7500 Subsea Crane

During customer days at the production plant in Rostock in January 2013 Liebherr presented its new subsea crane, type RL-K 7500. With this new knuckle boom crane the company extends its range of offshore cranes for subsea operations. The RL-K 7500 is able to lift up to 260t in the air and handle loads down to a water depth of 3,400m. The maximum rope diameter is 100mm, the maximum overturning moment of the crane is 75,000kNm. Depending on customers’ specifications, the boom configuration allows for working radii of up to 50 m.

First CAL 64000 heavy-lift offshore crane is ready for North Sea wind farm duty. The first CAL 64000-1500 Litronic®, a heavy lift offshore crane developed by Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH, is now ready for operation. The crane is installed on the Innovation, a vessel belonging to HGO InfraSea Solutions, which installs offshore wind power stations in the North Sea wind park Global Tech I. With this new product Liebherr meets the increasing demand for high performing heavy lift. The CAL 64000-1500 Litronic® achieves a maximum lifting capacity of 1,500 t at a maximum working radius of 31.5 m.
