CWind Expands Offshore Vessel Fleet

UK-based offshore support services provider CWind has signed a long-term charter deal with Dalby Offshore for several offshore vessels that will support offshore wind farms in the UK North Sea.The deal will see CWind immediately add four new vessels to its fleet with the option of an additional two vessels later in the year.Also, CWind said it that supported throughout negotiations by vessel procurement advisor Colebrook Offshore, It has already chartered some of the new vessels…

UK Electronic Solutions Inks Deal with Dalby Offshore

UK Electronic Solutions, (part of the NSSLGlobal group), said it has signed a contract with Dalby Offshore to install its motion and impact monitoring system, Oceanic Dynamics, on an additional three crew transfer vessels (CTVs). This follows a successful trial of the system on board Dalby Offshore’s largest CTV, the Dalby Ouse. Dalby Offshore’s 10-strong fleet primarily supports offshore wind farms, working with companies such as VBMS, SSE Dong Energy, Siemens and RWE Statoil, to move equipment and engineering crews as required. At 26 meters long, the Dalby Ouse catamaran is not only the largest CTV in Dalby’s fleet, it also has the largest engines and waterjets of any CTV in the U.K.

UK Electronic Solutions (part of NSSLGlobal Group), has announced Oceanic Dynamics, a new self-contained motion and impact monitoring system suited to offshore vessels. Created by UK Electronic Solutions, Oceanic Dynamics protects the longevity of offshore assets by monitoring and reporting vessel impact on structures, passenger comfort and safety, and engine performance and reliability. Offshore structures have highly stringent requirements when it comes to the total impact force allowed from docking vessels.

BWTS Newcomer Sees Early Success

Norwegian manufacturer of ballast water treatment systems MMC Green Technology reports it has sold more than 70 systems since going commercial with its MMC BWMS two years ago, 40 of which have already been installed on board vessels worldwide, the company said. “With 40 systems installed, we are starting to get feedback from the operators,” said Børge Gjelseth, sales and marketing director at MMC Green Technology. Glycerine Engine Featured at Seawork 2014

The world’s first marine engine to be run using the exceptionally clean fuel of glycerine will be on display at Seawork 2014 together with a seminar session entitled ‘Will my ship/workboat run on this?’ where interested parties can find out more about the fuel’s possibilities for use in the marine sector. The Cummins marine engine will be on display throughout the exhibition on the Alicat workboat on berth V28, courtesy of Gardline Marine Services, who are partners in the GLEAMS (Glycerine Fuel for Engines and Marine Sustainability) project, and Dalby Offshore, the vessel’s new owners.

Alicat Workboats, of Great Yarmouth,  delivers its latest catamaran workboat 'Dalby Trent' to Dalby Offshore. Continuing the long history of shipbuilding in Great Yarmouth, Alicat Workboats based on Southtown Road and part of the Gardline group, formally hands over its latest aluminium built wind farm support vessel to Dalby Offshore.
