Damen Wins Sitecore Business Transformation Award

Damen Shipyards Group, together with its website partner Evident,has won the ‘Benelux Sitecore Experience Award 2014’ in the category ‘Business Transformation’. This prize is awarded to the best Sitecoresolution, meaning a solution which generates measurable, effective business results and avery good user experience. It was Damen’s online product catalogue www.products.damen.com that was favoured by the jury. This commercially successful website is gradually transforming Damen’s sales processes. The online productcatalogue serves both existing and potential clients by being aimed at their inquiries and needs with a visually and powerful presentation of vessels and services. This happens at a detailed level – if the required vessel type is in Damen’s portfolio, you find what you seek.

Damen Launches First PSV 3300 for PROMAR

Offshore ship manager PROMAR recently marked a milestone with the sideways launch into the Danube of the first of its two Damen PSV 3300s on order. On delivery in February 2015, the Swiss company believes the 80-metre Mamola Reliance will give them a valuable competitive edge in the West African oil and gas market. On September 4, Damen Shipyards Galati launched the PSV 3300 Mamola Reliance at an official ceremony at the yard in Romania. Damen platform supply vessels have become a familiar sight on the Danube since Damen introduced its range of high specification designs up to 6,300 dwt.

The continued maturation of Offshore Service Vessel design is embodied in recent contracts and deliveries. Ulstein Verft subsea newbuild Island Performer was built for Island Offshore to be a flexible, RLWI/IMR vessel, destined to serve its first five years for FTO in the Gulf of Mexico. “The vessel is customized to suit the scope of work in the FTO contract, in which RLWI (Riser-less Light Well Intervention) and IMR (Inspection/Maintenance/Repair) are the main tasks. She is able to perform operations at depths down to 3,000m,” said Håvard Ulstein, Managing Director, Island Offshore.

CMM Takes Delivery of Damen PSV for Brazil

New supplier CMM Gravity to start on long-term contract with Petrobras. CMM has taken delivery of a Damen Platform Supply Vessel 3300. The 80-meter, 3,300t deadweight vessel CMM Gravity will be deployed in the Brazilian waters from June 2014 on a 4+4 year contract with Petrobras. For CMM (Compagnie Maritime Monégasque S.A.M.), the vessel will mark a further step in its ambitious plans to expand in the offshore space and expand its offering by developing its capabilities as an OSV operator. It is the yard’s seventh delivery of Damen’s new mid-size PSV 3300 design.

New PSV Orders for Damen

World Wide Supply orders 2 more Damen Platform Supply Vessels. Norwegian shipowner World Wide Supply (WWS) has ordered another two PSV 3300 CD’s with Damen Shipyards. The two platform suppliers are added to the four that WWS announced to be built in December 2011. The extra vessels will be delivered end of 2013 and operated by Remøy Management AS. Mr. Ståle Remøy, Managing Director of Remøy, says: “We are glad we have been able to achieve another two ships from Damen of this modern design.

Damen Signs Contract

Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, The Netherlands and Wilson Sons, Brazil signed a contract and license agreement for the construction of a Damen Platform Supply Vessel 7216. The 236 ft. (72 m) vessel will be built by Wilson Sons at its shipyard in Guaruja (Santos), Brazil. Damen will provide engineering, construction drawings and a material package. The vessel, operated by Wilson Sons, will enter into a charter contract with Petrobras and fully complies with their requirements. The 3,100 dwt vessel has an available deck area 630 sq. m. with a maximum deck load of 1,000 ton. The tank lay-out includes fuel oil, potable water, ballast/drilling water, liquid mud and dry bulk.
