Roozendaal to head MacGregor Business Area

Michel van Roozendaal (M.Sc. Aerospace Engineering; MBA INSEAD, Fontainebleau; b. 1963) has been appointed President of the MacGregor business area. He will be a member of Cargotec's Executive Board and report to President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen. Michel van Roozendaal joins from Ingersoll-Rand where he has been heading the Thermo King Global Marine, Rail and Bus businesses. Prior to this he has held global general management roles with companies such as United Technologies, Danaher, JCI and Honeywell. With over 25 years in technology businesses with exposure to product development, manufacturing and sales, van Roozendaal has been responsible for delivering integrated solutions to customers in a variety of different fields. Trojan BWT System Gains IMO Type Approval (USCG Standard)

Trojan Technologies informs that their Trojan Marinex Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) product suite has obtained International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type Approval from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) on behalf of the Norwegian Maritime Directorate. New Navy Contract

Kollmorgen Corp., (d.b.a. Kollmorgen Electro Optical, a Danaher Company), Northampton, Mass. is being awarded a $7,591,258 indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity cost plus fixed fee contract for engineering services in support of reusable shipping containers, Special Support & Test Equipment (SS&TE), and the repair, overhaul, and restoration of the Type 2,8,14,15,18, and 22 periscope systems, Improved Non-Penetrating Periscopes (INPP), Naval Electronic Surveillance System Infrared Exploitation(NESSIE) and NESSIE GEN II Submarine Systems, along with new technology periscope imaging systems used on Los Angeles, Seawolf, and NSSN class submarines. Work will be performed in Northampton, Mass., and is expected to be completed by December 2013.

Gems Names Bras-Jorge as New President

Gems Sensors & Controls (Gems), a leader in liquid level, pressure, and flow sensors and miniature solenoid valves, today announced the appointment of Muriel Bras-Jorge to the position of President. Bras-Jorge, an executive with deep experience in engineering, lean manufacturing, and business development has held executive level positions at Jacobs Vehicle Systems Inc. (JVS), a Danaher company and Honeywell International Inc. Mrs. Bras-Jorge will have global responsibility for Gems which includes global sales and manufacturing facilities in Plainville and New Britain, Connecticut; Basingstoke, England; and all other global assets including Europe and Asia. Prior to her Business Development role, Mrs. Bras-Jorge was Vice President and General Manager of Medium Duty at JVS.
