TDI-Brooks Names Rich Hendren VP

Marine data acquisition services company TDI-Brooks announced it has named Rich Hendren Ph.D. to its executive leadership team as Vice President of Operations Integrity and Quality DevelopmentHendren retired from the U.S. Navy after over 30 years of service in submarines, submarine support and shore installation management. Transitioning to civilian life, he gained additional management experience in the professional training, maritime, petroleum and hydrographic survey industries where he built a history of leading teams to success in complex operations often in challenging environments.

Surveyors Map Sunken Liberty Ship off Texas Coast

U.S.-based marine data acquisition services company TDI-Brooks said it recently mapped the Liberty Ship George Vancouver off Freeport, Texas while out on a seabed survey project with the R/V Brooks McCall. The multiple multi-phase geophysical and geotechnical site surveys program consisted of pipeline routing and subsea structures to facilitate route and project design for offshore developers.Equipment used to map the ship was a Teledyne Reson SeaBat T-20 multibeam sonar with integrated Applanix POSMV for Motion.

TDI-Brooks' New Vessel Completes Its First Projects

TDI-Brooks’ newest vessel R/V Miss Emma McCall has recently completed its first projects for the U.S.-based marine data acquisition services company on behalf of Total and Cairn Energy offshore Mexico. TDI-Brooks has the vessel on a long-term bare-boat charter from Cameron Offshore Boats.The 2003-built Miss Emma is a multi-use oceanographic research vessel outfitted for a wide variety of oceanographic research duties for operations in the Northern/Southern Gulf of Mexico (GOM), U.S. East Coast and elsewhere in the Americas.

SAExploration Wins $130Mln of New Projects

Houston-based  global seismic services company SAExploration announced a combined $130 million of new projects in Alaska, Canada and the Middle East.According to the geophysical services provider the largest contract is valued at approximately $112 million for onshore data acquisition services to be performed on the North Slope of Alaska.The data acquisition services will be conducted over the next three winter seasons, beginning in Q1 2020.In association with this multi-year project award, SAE has entered into a separate agreement with Geospace Technologies Corporation to purchase 30,000 new state-of-the-art GCL recording channels.The new Geospace channels will primarily be utilized during the aforementioned multi-year contract in Alaska…

Fugro Wins Large Chevron Offshore Navigation Contract

Netherlands-based Fugro has been contracted by Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd, to support its development program at Block 0, off the coast of Cabinda province, Angola. The contract includes the provision of offshore positioning services and accurate navigation systems for Chevron’s drilling units, vessels and structures, together with both onshore and offshore survey services. Fugro’s offshore geophysical data acquisition services will be supplemented by data processing, interpretation and reporting. At Chevron’s onshore facilities in Malongo, Fugro’s survey services will include subsidence evaluations, topographical surveys, chart production, interpretation and reporting. www.fugro.com

Expro Awarded Contract Extension in Cameroon

Leading international oilfield services company Expro is celebrating a significant contract extension with Perenco in Cameroon. The award is an extension of services from a previous well campaign and will last for the duration of one year. Expro will provide an extended well test, data acquisition services and its drill stem testing (DST) package including Expro’s CaTS™ wireless telemetry technology which will be utilised as a surface read-out system. Work will take place across two exploration and appraisal (E&A) wells in the Lungahe and Elombo fields and two development wells in Dissoni. Expro’s Southern & West Africa region director, Riccardo Muttoni, said: “Perenco is pressing ahead with major development plans in Cameroon and the neighbouring areas.

Expro Contract, Ghana’s First Deepwater Field

International oilfield service company Expro is establishing a new base in Ghana following the award of a multi-million dollar contract to deliver subsea, well test and data acquisition services for Tullow Ghana Limited (subsidiary of ‘Tullow Oil’) on the Jubilee Phase 1 Development field, which is the country’s first deepwater development. Ghana has been a strategic target for Expro since Tullow announced its intention to explore and later develop a major discovery. Expro is the current incumbent for Tullow’s exploration and testing work. On the back of this success, Expro has been awarded the Jubilee Phase 1 subsea and intervention work for 30 months.
