Royal IHC Ships Equipment for Weeks' New Hopper Dredge

A shipment of Royal IHC's equipment is traveling from Europe to the U.S. to be installed on Weeks Marine's new trailing suction hopper dredge (TSHD) R.B. Weeks, currently under construction at Eastern Shipbuilding Group's Allanton shipyard in Florida. In May of 2020, Royal IHC and Weeks Marine Inc. entered into a contract for the engineering and equipment delivery for the 6,540-cubic-meter-capacity newbuild, an identical vessel to the Magdalen delivered to Weeks from Eastern in 2017. Acta Centaurus Supports Deutsche Bucht

Netherlands-based workboat provider Acta Marine said that its new walk-to-work vessel Acta Centaurus with SMST equipment in Deutsche Bucht has carried out first operations.Acta Centaurus has now been working for 1.5 months at the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm. SMST designs and builds offshore equipment. Kalmar-Navis Intermodal Automation Solution for Moorebank Logistics Park

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Navis, part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec, have been awarded the contract to supply a state-of-the-art, fully automated intermodal terminal solution for Qube's Moorebank Logistics Park (MLP) in south-western Sydney. The order, valued at approximately EUR 80 million, includes the supply of the OneTerminal solution comprising Kalmar's automated train handling, automated yard crane and automated horizontal transportation equipment and the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). It was booked into Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The manual operations at the Moorebank facility are due to commence in Q1 of 2019.

Peter Döhle, MacGregor Sign 70-ship Service Deal

MacGregor has signed a three-year MacGregor Onboard Care (MOC) service agreement with the German shipping company, Peter Döhle Schiffahrts Group, for an annual inspection of deck machinery, steering gear and cranes on a mixed fleet of 70 vessels. The agreement became effective as of 1 January 2017. "Our commitment is to provide the operative availability of equipment and ensure sustainable ship operations and earning capabilities for these vessels," says John Carnall, Senior Vice President, Global Lifecycle Support, MacGregor. The MOC service contract will provide approximately 100 inspections of key MacGregor-delivered equipment each year, including Hatlapa steering gear and deck machinery as well as MacGregor cranes.

IMTRA Outfits US’ First Wind Farm Vessel

IMTRA, a manufacturer and importer of commercial marine products, has delivered equipment to the first U.S.-flagged offshore wind farm crew transfer vessel (CTV), Atlantic Pioneer. IMTRA’s scope of supply includes the Colorlight CL20 high-output searchlight, Decca Straight Line wiper system and LED deck, interior and engine room lights for the Blount Boats-built, 69-foot CTV. The vessel was locally built in Rhode Island and has been delivered to its operator, Atlantic Wind Transfers which is based in Quonset Point, R.I.

Konecranes Receives Harbour Crane Order

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), U.S.A. and Konecranes have closed a contract for the delivery of four Super Post Panamax Ship-to-Shore (STS) container cranes and 15 all-electric Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes to the Garden City Terminal in the Port of Savannah, Georgia. Deliveries will start in the spring of 2007 and continues until April 2008. The value of the order is over $50 Million. As the volume of containers moving through the Port of Savannah escalates and the container vessels grow even larger, bigger and faster cranes are required for container handling. The newly ordered STS cranes can service the largest vessels in the world, and the RTG cranes provide the fastest container flow on the container yard. To date, Konecranes has delivered 11 STS-cranes and 31 RTG-cranes to GPA.
