GTMaritime Protects Onboard Cyber Security

GTMaritime has seen exceptional growth in the use of its secure, maritime optimized email software and other cyber-security solutions as vessel owners and operators step up a gear to harden onboard networks and protect their ships from digital threats. Many have been spurred into action by IMO’s decision to bring cyber-security under the remit of the ISM code from 2021.Some 5,677 vessels are now employing solutions from GTMaritime’s portfolio – an increase of more than one-third over the past year.

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), a global shipping company based in the Middle East, has implemented Shiptech, an end-to-end fuel management system developed by global cloud software company Inatech. Shiptech provides the company with an automated, cloud-based, fuel management system that transforms the way UASC buys bunker fuel. Using Shiptech’s procurement, contract management and advanced reporting applications, UASC plans fleet level bunkering for its vessels, tracks vessel performance and improves negotiations with suppliers.

Vizada Showcases New Business Solutions

Crew PC, new versions of Vizada XChange and SkyFile Mail optimize crew comms and business data management. Vizada, an independent provider of global satellite-based mobility services, will showcase some of its newest updates and innovations in communications solutions for crew and optimization of business data at this year’s Europort in Rotterdam (November 8-11). Vizada and partner Marlink will be available at booth 3117 for the duration of the event. The recently-released Crew PC will be highlighted during the international maritime show. The Crew PC is a pre-configured onboard PC which connects to a satellite data terminal to provide instant plug-&-play access to data communications such as email, chat and internet access.

Globalstar Partners with OCENS

Globalstar, Inc., will with software and communications company, OCENS, to launch a new suite of data services. OCENS Mail, WeatherNet and GRIB Explorer products are now available to Globalstar subscribers in the United States, providing optimized email transfer speeds and important weather and ocean information services via the Globalstar satellite network. OCENS Mail for Globalstar will provide satellite customers with the capability to transfer emails 20 times faster than when using standard email software. The program is optimized for the Globalstar network, offering virus scanning, filtering and mail forwarding services and works with existing email services such as Outlook Express.
