Shallow-draft LNG Carrier Dapeng Princess Delivered

Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. has delivered a newly built shallow-draft liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for Dapeng Princess LNG Transportation (Holdings) Co., Ltd.The 7,9600m3 Dapeng Princess, officially handed over during a ceremony on February 18, is the world’s largest shallow water channel fourth-generation medium-sized LNG carrier, which hangs the Singapore flag and was listed into the China Classification Society (CCS) classification.

Alfa Laval E-PowerPack Converts Waste Heat into Power

Alfa Laval's newly launched E-PowerPack converts waste heat into power, enabling energy savings and compliance.Waste heat is a readily available but under-utilized energy source on board. Heat in the engine exhaust gas accounts for 50% of the energy from combusted fuel, and there is additional heat to recover from steam and liquids. Alfa Laval's new E PowerPack puts all these heat sources to work for savings and compliance with sustainability requirements.The E-PowerPack uses Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology to turn waste heat into clean electrical power.

COSCO Takes Delivery of LNG Dual-fuel VLCC

A newly delivered very large crude carrier (VLCC) is said to be the world's first capable of running on liquefied natural gas (LNG).The Yuan Rui Yang was handed over on Monday at China's Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) for shipping giant COSCO.Classed by China Classification Society (CCS), the 333-meter-long vessel will be operated by COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Company. Chinese Yard Launches SUPER GREEN 8500 for Carisbrooke

On Monday September 26, the Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Ltd. will launch Yno YZJ2010-931, the first vessel of the ‘SUPER GREEN 8500’ type for Carisbrooke Shipping. With this vessel the yard is the first Chinese shipyard launching a vessel with a Groot Cross-Bow®. Despite the economical difficult times more vessels with a Groot Cross-Bow® are under construction at the moment. The Dutch naval architect, Groot Ship Design, designed for Dutch / British Carisbrooke Shipping an innovating multipurpose cargo vessel, the 8500 dwt ‘SUPER GREEN 8500’.
