Hurricane Ida's Fury Cuts Deep into U.S. Oil Output, Gasoline Supplies

Hurricane Ida pummeled U.S. Gulf Coast energy suppliers, knocking out most of the region's offshore wells and nearly half its motor fuel production and drove prices broadly higher.The storm crashed on Sunday into the Louisiana coast, tearing through U.S. offshore oil and gas fields with 150 mile per hour (241 kph) winds and pushing up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) of water ashore. More than 620,000 homes and businesses in Louisiana were without power.Production losses - including at six Gulf Coast refineries - will lift retail gasoline prices by 5 to 10 cents a gallon, said tracking firm GasBuddy.

Buyers of U.S. LNG to Cancel 40-45 Cargoes

Buyers of liquefied natural gas (LNG) are expected to cancel 40 to 45 cargoes for August loading from the United States due to a slow recovery in Asian gas demand and record-high European gas stocks, market sources said on Monday.The exact number of cancellations is yet to be confirmed as the deadline of some projects is on Monday, but six of the sources said they expected the number of August cancellations to be close to 40 to 45 cargoes, the same number that was canceled for July loading.That followed at least 20 to 30 U.S.

E.ON, RWE Renewables Sign Clean Power Deal

Global energy company E.ON has signed an agreement to purchase clean energy from British wind farms of RWE Renewables.The 2.5-year agreement is on purchasing the output of more than 20 British wind farms, supplying sustainable power to the grid and supporting E.ON’s commitment to provide 100% renewable power for its UK customers.With this power purchase agreement (PPA) E.ON buys around 3TWh of power annually from wind farms around Great Britain which are operated by RWE. GC Rieber Bags Statnett Management Contract

Norwegian shipping company GC Rieber Shipping has won a technical management contract from Statnett Transport for the Norwegian logistics company’s two RoRo vessels.The vessels are the 9,120-bhp Elektron (built 2008) and 1,500-bhp Elektron II (built 1969), said a stock exchange announcement from the company that operates offshore subsea support vessels, marine seismic vessels and polar logistics and research expeditions."The contract has a duration of three years plus options. IHC Lagersmit acquires ATEX 95 certificate for its LIQUIDYNE pump shaft seal. IHC Lagersmit, part of IHC Merwede, has acquired the ATEX 95 registration for its LIQUIDYNE pump shaft seal. This registration signifies compliance with the European guidelines, which must be met in order for equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX 95 registration has been issued by DEKRA Certification, which judged and approved the Technical Construction File for the LIQUIDYNE series, types LDS, L2T and L3T.

Sener New Office in Abu Dhabi

Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas, S.A. has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. This new office is located in the Gulf Business Centre district of downtown Abu Dhabi and will be Sener’s local headquarters to develop projects in the power and process sector, the civil engineering and architecture sector, as well as the aerospace sector. Sener began to take an interest in the business opportunities available in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in 2007, when the company made its first contacts there. This led to the creation of Torresol Energy in March 2008.
