NATO Demonstrates Defense Against Terrorism

On November 21-22, 2013 the NATO Center for Maritime Research and experimentation, in collaboration with the Italian Navy COMFORDRAG, hosts the TALON 13 demonstration, part of the NATO Defense Against Terrorism (DAT) program. Navy Patent SNARE Propeller Entangler

The small naval arresting rope entangler, or SNARE, helps stop boats from evading military & law enforcement inspections by entangling the craft's propellers. SNARE was designed by a team of engineers from NSWC Carderock, NSWC Dahlgren and the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center. Anti-Piracy Device Nets Interest

A British company which makes compressed air cannons has reported a surge in the interest for its new floating entanglement device which can stop pirate skiffs in their tracks.
