The project provides SCF Group with access to the latest enterprise management systems, enabling organizational efficiency to be improved, costs to be reduced and facilitating compliance with the latest regulations impacting upon shipping companies. One of the most complex and advanced IT projects ever undertaken within the shipping industry, this project involved the databases of all 143 vessels within SCF Group’s fleet. Each deliverable under the project having to be deployed successfully on each of the Group’s vessels, requiring great attention to detail.

Aveva announced that CSC Jinling Shipyard in Greater China has signed a new contract for Aveva Net software, upon which an integrated design information management system will be deployed. CSC Jinling Shipyard has grown over recent years, extending its operations across multiple sites. To optimize these distributed and complex operations, Aveva Net was selected to integrate information from engineering, design and enterprise resource management systems across all of its geographic locations. AVEVA showcases latest design and resource management software for the offshore industry at Texas conference. AVEVA has announced  that it will once again sponsor the Opening Night Networking Reception at the upcoming Topsides Platforms & Hulls Conference and Exhibition 2013 (Topsides). AVEVA signed a major contract extension with Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) for AVEVA MARS, an Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) software solution from the  AVEVA Enterprise portfolio. Implemented at Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, this new contract will incorporate additional maintenance, services, consultancy, and development to further enhance and tailor the AVEVA MARS system to Ingalls’ business processes. Supplying U.S. Naval and Coast Guard vessels, Ingalls has been an important customer of AVEVA MARS since 2006. AVEVA MARS, with modules for Material, Planning and Production designed specifically for the shipbuilding industry, has enabled Ingalls to streamline and improve shipyard and waterfront operations from initial proposals through to commissioning.

On May 10, 2012 AVEVA (LSE:AVV) announced the release of an exciting new software product family for the marine and EPC market, AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management. Comprising the products AVEVA Material, AVEVA Planning and AVEVA Production, the application suite supports the entire project management and execution process. AVEVA (LSE:AVV), announced that GUANGXIN Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co. Ltd (GSHI) selected AVEVA MARS, AVEVA’s enterprise resource management system. GSHI, formerly ’GMG Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry’, is a Chinese-foreign joint venture specialising in the research and manufacture of offshore vessels and other special purpose ships, selected AVEVA MARS in a competitive tender. MARS, the dedicated solution that optimises project control, logistics, materials management, production, resources and planning, was specifically designed for shipyards. It will be implemented in GSHI’s Zhongshan City shipyard and the contract will see an initial 100 concurrent users.

SpecTec Group, IT supplier to the merchant and cruise shipping markets, has recently acquired a 20% share in MarineXChange Software GmbH. MarineXchange is a provider of enterprise resource management software to the cruise industry. "The two companies have collaborated for several years already, and our software portfolios and philosophies complement each other very well", said Giampiero Soncini, CEO of SpecTec Group. MarineXchange software can also be used for the food and beverage management of large fleets, as well as for land based hotels. MarineXchange software runs at the office and remote installations such as ships, hotels and warehouses. The software provides tools to collect and retain data, automate processes and share data across an entire organization.
