Vryhof Anchors Announces Stevshark Rex Contracts
Vryhof Anchors, a Vryhof company, has announced a number of contracts for its’ Stevshark Rex anchoring solution with Anglo-French independent operator Perenco and its Congolese subsidiary Perenco Congo SA; Maersk Drilling in Trinidad; and international EPC contactor CNGS Group. Containers Lost in Rough Seas
The search is on for 12 containers swept overboard from motor vessel Manoa in heavy weather and seas late Friday evening. An environmental contractor has been hired by the shipper to recover discharged debris and containers, which are empty with the exception of miscellaneous packing material, according to the U.S. Coast guard (USCG). The environmental contractor is in the process of removing the container and miscellaneous packing contents from one of the containers that came ashore at Baker Beach. Polymers Avert Pollution Threat
Among the more compelling news photos published following the landfall of Hurricane Sandy was that of the 184' tanker John B. Caddell run aground onto a Staten Island street by tidal flooding. That the tanker required heavy lifting to return it to sea was only part of the problem. A layer of bunker fuel shrouded the vessel's flooded engine room, creating a contaminated work area.
