GEA Heat Exchangers to Present at SMM
GEA Heat Exchangers said it will present its latest innovations at SMM 2014, the maritime-business trade fair for shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology from September 9-12 in Hamburg Germany. The company will exhibit in hall A3, at stand 212, where visitors can become acquainted with a variety of product innovations for maritime operations and offshore applications. In addition to its already proven exhaust gas recirculation coolers (EGR) for four-stroke diesel engines, GEA Heat Exchangers now presents a new model for two-stroke diesel engines in medium and high output ranges.
Oil Majors Expand Far North Exploration Projects
Rosneft and ExxonMobil agree to collaborate in the search for offshore energy in the Russian Arctic & Far East, and Alaska. The two companies have agreed to expand their cooperation under their 2011 Strategic Cooperation Agreement to include an additional approximately 600,000 square kilometers (150 million acres) of exploration acreage in the Russian Arctic and potential participation by Rosneft (or its affiliate) in the Point Thomson project in Alaska. Overseas Reymar Cleared to Sail; Investigation Continues
Overseas Reymar cleared to sail; Coast Guard Calls on Harbor Safety Committee to review Critical Maneuvering Areas; investigation continues. The U.S. Coast Guard has completed interviews, evidence collection, and a thorough safety inspection onboard the oil tanker Overseas Reymar which has been anchored in San Francisco Bay’s Anchorage 7 since the vessel’s allision with a support tower of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Monday morning. Coast Guard inspectors and representatives from the vessel’s Flag State have determined the Overseas Reymar is safe to sail. This determination was based on a careful assessment of the vessel’s structural damage, and the inspection and testing of critical propulsion, auxiliary, navigation, safety, and environmental protection systems.
