ZF Unveils Condition Monitoring for Thruster Systems
Marine propulsion systems company ZF has introduced an intelligent Condition Monitoring System for thrusters. The technology monitors the status of the thruster system and helps shipyards, shipping companies and fleet operators maintain the safety and efficiency of their ships as well as extend the service life of the propulsion system. In addition to that, a new oil cleaning system ensures oil quality and prolongs oil service life.ZFâs Condition Monitoring System is equipped with various sensors and an intelligent electronic evaluation unit.
ZF: New CBM Tech for Thruster Systems
At the 15th Maritime Industry Exhibition in early May in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, ZF Marine Krimpen will debut its Condition Monitoring System. ZF's system is designed to help shipyards, shipping companies and fleet operators maintain the safety and efficiency of their ships. It is equipped with various sensors and an intelligent electronic evaluation unit. The system measures vibrations which indicate the condition of the bearings and gears in the thruster's upper and lower gearbox.
ZF Condition Monitoring Optimizes Operations
Monitoring current data from the driveline as well as the status of core components makes it possible to avoid failures and plan maintenance work effectively. This shortens downtime, lowers operating costs and increases safety on board and at the port, says ZF, who offers detailed status monitoring for marine propulsion systems. As specialist for marine propulsion systems, ZF can help shipyards, shipping lines and fleet operators manage their ships more efficiently and safely with its condition monitoring system (CMS).
