Evergreen Marine Renews LTSSP Contract with Kongsberg Digital

Kongsberg Digital (KDI) announced that its long-term system support program (LTSSP) contract with the Evergreen Marine Corporation has been renewed for another 10 years.The Taiwanese shipping company, one of the largest of its kind in the world, has used KONGSBERG simulators for crew training for over 20 years, with the first maritime simulator delivered to the firm’s training center in 1999. Taiwan Training Center ClassNK Certified

Evergreen Seafarer Training Center (ESTC) earns ClassNK certification for its training courses. Classification society ClassNK announced that it has certified the Bridge Resource Management (BRM), Electronic Chart Display Information Systems (ECDIS) and Engine-room Resource Management (ERM) training courses offered by the Evergreen Seafarer Training Center (ESTC). ESTC boasts one of the world’s most sophisticated maritime training centers and has provided training for Taiwanese and foreign seafarers who serve on Evergreen’s fleet of some 100 vessels.

ESTC Earns ClassNK Certification

Leading class society ClassNK announced that it has certified the Bridge Resource Management (BRM), Electronic Chart Display Information Systems (ECDIS) and Engine-room Resource Management (ERM) training courses offered by the Evergreen Seafarer Training Center (ESTC). The new certification confirms that the training programs meet the requirements of ClassNK standards, IMO model course requirements and the STCW Code. The official certificate was presented to Evergreen Marine Corp. (Taiwan) Ltd.

MSI Trains Evergreen Marine Instructors

The Director of MarineSafety International's San Diego learning and research center, David Ramsey, recently conducted Bridge Resource Management and Train the Trainer courses for the instructors of Evergreen Marine's Seafarer Training Center. The training took place at the Training Center in Taoyuan, Taipei. Evergreen Marine, part of the Evergreen Group, operates 120 container ships, which call at ports worldwide. Approximately 2,000 mariners are employed on their ships. Evergreen's Seafarer Training Center, a full-service center managed by Captain Lin Ting-shyang, has bridge and engine full mission simulators, part task trainers, and ECDIS and GMDSS labs.
