First Warship Built in Egypt Launched

The first warship to be built in Egypt was launched during a ceremony on September 6, 2018 in Alexandria. The Port-Said Gowind corvette was constructed by Alexandria Shipyard through an industrial cooperation with France’s Naval Group.The new warship will contribute to increase the Egyptian Navy Power alongside the first ever delivered Gowind corvette, El-fateh, which is already already deployed by the Egyptian Navy. Iran to Launch Home-Made Submarine Soon

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says the Islamic Republic will soon launch a new domestically-manufactured submarine. "The Navy's new submarine will be launched soon," Iran's state-run news agency quoted Rear Admiral Sayyari as saying. The Submarine 'Fateh' (triumphant) was tested in a joint military forces maneuver in January 2015. Iran is also working on a new destroyer and expressed hope that the vessel would join the Navy by the end of the current Iranian year (March 19, 2016), he said. The Iranian Navy commander noted that the new destroyer is armed with "a collection of missiles and torpedoes" and will be displayed to the public soon. The new destroyer features a variety of new military equipment and weapons.

Substantial Middle East Subsea Contract for Technip

Technip say they have been awarded a contract by Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE) covering the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the Jalilah B field development project, located nearly 90 kilometers offshore Dubai (United Arab Emirates, UAE), at water depth reaching 60 meters. Technip’s scope of work consists of the construction and installation of the Jalilah B platform, a 900-ton deck, a 500-ton jacket, as well as 13 new risers(2) on existing platforms. It also includes the installation of 110 kilometers of pipelines ranging from 6 to 24 inches in diameter.
