SMM Finance Forum: ‘Banks are Lending Again’
For Dr. Carsten Wiebers, Global Head of Maritime Industries at KfW IPEX-Bank, and member of the SMM Advisory Board, innovative financing solutions are key to Europe's continued international competitiveness in maritime high technology. On September 8, 2014, or SMM Finance Day, the SMM Ship Finance Forum will be held for the second time in conjunction with international maritime trade fair SMM. The forum, which will answer questions revolving around financing solutions for global shipbuilding and shipping, will be subdivided into three overarching topics.
MAN Diesel UK, MAN Turbo Merge
With immediate effect, Stockport based MAN Diesel Ltd and its sister company MAN Turbo (UK) Ltd have merged operations in the UK to form a new organization, MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Ltd. All administration and finance departments from both companies have been centralized at the newly built MAN Diesel & Turbo UK head office complex in Stockport, Cheshire. Also, as part of this merger, a new MAN Diesel & Turbo UK Sales office has been opened in Redhill, Surrey. The merger of the two UK operations into one organization, follows the announcement of the integration of the individual parent companies, MAN Diesel SE and MAN Turbo AG. The Headquarters of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE is based in Augsburg, Germany.
AMCV Elects Davison As VP - Finance
American Classic Voyages (AMCV), has appointed Nicholas J. Davison vice president, finance. Davison, who previously served as financial and operations officer with Cunard Line for more than 14 years, will be responsible for the corporate finance departments in both New Orleans and Hawaii, as well as the financial operations of all AMCV cruise vessels.
