Altera Hires DOF to Install Voyageur Spirit FPSO Offshore Ivory Coast

Altera Infrastructure has hired DOF to install Voyageur Spirit floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit as well as one floating storage unit (FSO) at Eni-operated Baleine oil field offshore Ivory Coast.The project includes the complete installation of seabed mooring systems, flowline between the FSO – a converted shuttle tanker Nordic Brasilia - and the Voyageur Spirit FPSO, along with their associated equipment.The contract for the redeployment of the FPSO and the FSO was secured by Altera back in October 2023.Voyageur Spirit is a cylindrical-shaped FPSO…

Westwood: Record Levels of FPS Throughput Capacity to be Sanctioned in 2022

As we enter the final month of 2022, a review of the floating production system (FPS) market revealed that some E&Ps have been bold with investments in the development of their oil and gas (O&G) reserves, with a total of 1.9 mmboepd (1.3 mmbpd of oil and 3.8 bcfd of gas) of FPS throughput capacity sanctioned year to date (YTD). This represents a 7% increase on 2021, with Westwood anticipating an additional 180 kboepd of FPS throughput capacity to be sanctioned before the end of the year.

Floating Production Market Is Booming

The market for floating production systems is booming, according to World Energy Reports' (WER) latest assessment of activity and developments in the offshore oil and gas market.“Business conditions and market sentiment in the deepwater sector have seldom been so positive,” said Jim McCaul, founder and principal analyst of WER.“Major upstream operators continue to rake in record cash and spending on new upstream projects has been ramping up,” McCaul said. “Activity has returned to levels last seen before the 2008 global financial meltdown.

Saipem Confirms Shell's Gato do Mato FPSO LNTP

Italian oilfield services firm Saipem has confirmed it has recently been awarded a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) by BW Offshore, for the early-stage engineering services for the supply of an FPSO unit to be supplied to Shell for the development of the Gato do Mato field offshore Brazil.The oil and gas field is located around 200 km offshore Brazil in the Santos Basin, in water depths of around 2,000 meters.The LNTP is valued at up to $50 million. BW Offshore Says Fatal Incident in Indian Yard Not Related to Its FPSOs

Japanese FPSO specialist MODEC has been awarded the contract for the delivery of an FPSO unit for Equinor's Bacalhau development.The EPCI contract award follows the final investment decision for the development of the field, announced by Equinor and its partners Tuesday. Wintermar Nabs 5-Year Charters for AHTS Duo

Indonesia offshore vessel operator Wintermar has secured five-year contracts for two of its offshore support vessels with an unnamed multinational oil and gas firm in Indonesia.Under the contracts, the two Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels will support production at an oil field off the northern coast of East Java.The vessels will support an FPSO unit in a producing field. Petrobras Orders Seventh FPSO for Buzios Field

Samsung Wins $963mln FPSO Contract

South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has received an order for the construction of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit on the condition that the client receives approval from its partner and government.The contract worth KRW 1.1 trillion (US$963 million) has been signed with an unnamed Asian shipowner, said a report in Yonhap. TechnipFMC Grabs BP FPSO Design Contract

UK-based TechnipFMC has been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by BP for the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for the Tortue/Ahmeyim Field Development, a major LNG (liquefied natural gas) project located offshore on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal. The agreement between the two companies provides a mechanism to allow a transition of the contract to an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract at a later stage. TechnipFMC will work on defining the technology and equipment scope and brings expertise to deliver major projects, leveraging extensive experience with Chinese fabrication .
