VIDEO: Bluewater's UK-based FPSO Arrives in Norway for Upgrades

Bluewater's Haewene Brim FPSO, normally used for oil production from Shell's Pierce Field in the UK North Sea, has recently arrived in Haugesund, Norway.Norwegian engineering and construction Aibel shared a video of the FPSO arrival in Haugesund, towed by a Maersk Supply Service vessel. In Norway, the Haewene Brim FPSO, built in 1996,  will undergo upgrades and life extension work.While at Aibel's yard, the FPSO will also be upgraded to allow for gas export, the Norwegian firm said.According to World Energy Reports' FPSO database…

Saipem: A Fleet Grows in Brazil

As some pre-salt plays begin production, a wide range of subsea infrastructure is being built, with O&G transportation pipeline grids being one of the vital downstream systems. Saipem has been recipient of the first major contracts to install deepwater pre-salt pipelines by national operator Petrobras. Claudio Paschoa, Maritime Reporter’s correspondent in Brazil brings us an in-depth look at Saipem’s vessels and projects in Brazil. FPSO Offshore Angola FEED Contract for KBR

KBR awarded FEED for FPSO topsides and hull, Luanda Office to play major role in supplying local content. KBR announce that it has been awarded a FEED contract to perform work for the topsides and hull associated with a new-build, double-sided, single-bottom hull Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The FPSO will be located offshore Angola and FEED is scheduled to start immediately, with a duration of 12 months. KBR’s scope covers the permanently moored FPSO using a spread mooring system. The vessel will be capable of storing a minimum of 1MM BBLS and housing 130 persons on board. The topsides will utilize a single train designed to process 80,000 barrels of oil per day and 90 million standard cubic feet per day at an export pressure of 3,500 psi.

TDW Offshore Completes Pipeline Pressure Isolation

TDW Offshore Services AS (TDW) has completed a key pipeline pressure isolation and joint testing operation offshore western Borneo in Malaysia for Sarawak Shell Berhad. TDW worked on platform F23P-A, which is part of the facilities operated by Sarawak Shell Berhad located 80 to 200 km from Miri and Bintulu. The operation was carried out on a gas export line that forms a portion of the line that runs from the F23P-A to the E11R-A platform. The network extends to one of the major trunklines connected to an LNG plant onshore in Bintulu.

Stolt Offshore Wins $150M Contract

Stolt Offshore S.A. signed an interim agreement for the second phase of the Amenam project in Nigeria. The contract, once finalised, is valued at approximately $150 million. It calls for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of a 640 tonne water injection platform with 550 tonne topsides at the Stolt Offshore Globestar fabrication yard at Warri in Nigeria. A 60 kilometre, 24-inch diameter gas export line will be installed together with a two kilometre 18-inch diameter pipeline that will link the new water injection platform to a process platform. The offshore installation programme will be in 2005.

Coflexip Unit Wins Pipeline Contract In GOM

Coflexip Stena Offshore Inc. was awarded by Williams Energy Services a large EPCI contract for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of two 18-in. export pipelines, totalling 160 miles from the Devils Tower field development, located in 5,700 ft water depth in Block 773 of the Gulf of Mexico, to shallow water tie-in locations at the shelf edge. The contract work scope comprises project management, engineering, procurement and installation of two export pipelines consisting of 160 miles of 18-in. pipeline, 12 miles of 14-in. pipeline and two 14-in. steel catenary risers (SCR).
