Aker BP, Maersk Drilling Sign Rig Contract off Norway

Maersk Drilling and Aker BP have signed a one-year contract to deploy the Maersk Integrator jack-up rig off Norway from June 2019, Aker BP said in a statement on Thursday.The contract, based on an alliance created between the two firms and Halliburton in 2017, is based on market-rate terms and holds the possibility of a sizeable upside for all parties, based on actual delivery and performance, it said.Maersk Integrator will finish its current campaign on the Gina Krog field off Norway in June 2019, and then go directly to the Ula field in the North Sea for a new one-year assignment with Aker B

Unusual Sea Chest Blanks for Teekay FSO

Teekay's Randgrid is currently undergoing a major conversion into a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel with work that includes the installation of an internal turret mooring system. Oslo-based Miko Marine said it has delivered four unique magnetic sea chest blanks for use during the conversion work at the Sembawang dockyard in Singapore. The Miko closures are now on site and ready to be used to create safe conditions for technicians working inside the vessel's sea chests.

Teekay Shipping has ordered four sea chest blanks from Norwegian magnetic technology specialists, Miko Marine. The closures will be delivered in August for use on the former shuttle tanker Randgrid which is currently undergoing a $220 million conversion into the Gina Krog floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel in Sembawang dockyard in Singapore. Conversion work includes the installation of an internal turret mooring system and on completion the new FSO will be operated by Teekay on Statoil’s Gina Krog field in the North Sea.

Sembawang Bags Teekay's FSO Conversion Project

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) conversion contract worth S$56 million from Teekay for the Gina Krog Field in the North Sea. Sembawang Shipyard will work closely with Teekay to convert the shuttle tanker Randgrid into an FSO. The yard will also fabricate and install new living quarter decks on the vessel. The ship is expected to arrive at Sembawang Shipyard in June 2015, with completion in 11 months, Sembcorp Marine said. Maersk Drilling Names Third XLE Jack-up Rig

Maersk Drilling’s third XL Enhanced ultra harsh environment jack-up was named Maersk Integrator by Statoil’s Executive Vice President Margareth Øvrum at a ceremony held at the Keppel FELS shipyard in Singapore Saturday morning. Maersk Integrator is the third in a series of four ultra harsh environment jack-up rigs to enter Maersk Drilling’s rig fleet. The four jack-up rigs represent a total investment of $2.6 billion. The first three jack-up rigs, including Maersk Intregrator, has now all been delivered from the Keppel FELS shipyard.

Keppel FELS Delivers Largest Rig to Maersk

Keppel FELS Limited has delivered the ultra-harsh jackup rig, Maersk Integrator, to Maersk Drilling, a wholly owned subsidiary of A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S, thirty days ahead of schedule, on budget and with a perfect safety record. The rig was named at a ceremony today in Keppel FELS by Ms Margareth Øvrum, Executive Vice President, Technology, Projects and Drilling, Statoil. Maersk Integrator is an XL Enhanced (XLE) harsh environment jackup rig and the third in the XLE series delivered to Maersk Drilling. It has been customised for operations in the North Sea and has been chartered on a four year term by Statoil for development drilling in the Gina Krog field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Statoil: Gudrun Officially Opened

Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg officially opened the Gudrun platform in the North Sea today, 19 August. This is the first new Statoil-operated platform on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) since Kristin in 2005. Gudrun is the first in a long line of new field developments operated by Statoil, and therefore it represents a new era on the NCS. The next in line is Valemon, which is scheduled for start-up later this year. Gina Krog and Johan Sverdrup on the Utsira High are next in the North Sea.

Teekay recently entered an agreement with Statoil to provide the FSO for the Gina Krog field. Gudrun on Stream

At 7:25 a.m. on April 7, Statoil and its partners (GDF SUEZ and OMV) started production on the Gudrun oil and gas field in the North Sea. "Gudrun is the first new Statoil-operated platform to come on stream on the Norwegian continental shelf since 2005. This is a red-letter day for the company," said Arne Sigve Nylund, Statoil's executive vice president for the Development and Production Norway business area. The new field contributes to important production from the Norwegian shelf. Statoil expects to recover 184 million barrels of oil and gas (oil equivalent) from the field.

Wärtsilä’s VIEC Ordered in Three North Sea Oilfields

Wärtsilä has signed three contracts with Aker Midsund of Norway to deliver its Vessel Internal Electrostatic Coalescer (VIEC) systems for three North Sea oilfields. The system enhances the speed and efficiency of the separation process of oil and water onboard in an environmentally safe manner. The contracts were signed in the fourth quarter of 2013. The systems are scheduled to be delivered between April and August 2014. VIEC will be utilized at the Gina Krog, Mariner, and Ivar Aasen oil fields in the North Sea.

ABB Wins US$60-Million Statoil Offshore Contract

Power and automation technology group, ABB, informs it has won three orders worth $60 million for internal and external telecommunication systems for three Statoil projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The three contracts have been signed with leading shipyards in South Korea. ABB will be a system integrator of telecommunications on the offshore installations built for the Aasta Hansteen and Gina Krog fields in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea and for the Mariner field in the British sector.

ClampOn Wins Contract for Gina Krog Project

ClampOn has won an order to supply 130 topside leak monitors for Statoil’s Gina Krog project. The contract was awarded by Solberg & Andersen in Bergen, Norway, and will be part of their ValveWatch condition monitoring system. “We are very proud to receive this award; 130 sensors is one of the biggest orders ever received by ClampOn. It shows us that striving to be a little better every day is appreciated in the market, and once again justifies our slogan ‘Always Numero Uno’,” said Geir Instanes, VP at ClampOn.

GE to Provide Equipment, Services for Statoil’s Gina Krog Platform

GE Oil & Gas was awarded a contract to provide Korean shipbuilding firm Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) with turbomachinery equipment and services for a new oil and gas production platform being built to support the production activities of Statoil Petroleum AS and its partners Total S.A. and Det Norske in the Gina Krog field in the Norwegian North Sea. Gina Krog (previously known as Dagny) is located 30 kilometers (km) northwest of the Sleipner field and approximately 250 km southwest of Stavanger, Norway. The development of Gina Krog will be among Statoil's major new developments with an estimated 225 million barrels of oil and gas. For the project, GE is supplying DSME with an integrated topside turbomachinery solution featuring products from several GE businesses.

Teekay Offshore Partners Sign FSO Contract

The contract with Statoil is to provide a floating storage and offtake (FSO) unit for the Gina Krog oil & gas field located in North Sea. The contract will be serviced by a new FSO unit converted from the 1995-built shuttle tanker, Randgrid, which is currently 67 percent owned by Teekay Offshore. The Partnership's portion of the FSO conversion project is expected to be completed for a total net capital cost of approximately $220 million, including the cost of acquiring the remaining 33 percent ownership interest in the Randgrid shuttle tanker. Following completion in the first quarter of 2017, the newly converted FSO unit will commence operations under a 3-year firm period time-charter contract to Statoil, which includes 12 additional one-year extension options.

Statoil Contract for Ocean Installer

Ocean Installer has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation (EPCI) contract for subsea installations and tie-in operations at the Statoil operated fields Gina Krog (former Dagny) and Eirin. The total contract value is approximately $85 million (U.S.), including options. The scope of work is part of the field development of the Gina Krogand Eirin fields and includes design, fabrication and subsea installation of Gas Export Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM), the oil export riser base, the tie-in spools and covers, as well as all associated remote tie-in operations. The work scope related to the Eirin field is included as an option due to the later project sanctioning schedule for this development.
