Silver Moon Launched at Fincantieri

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has launched Silver Moon, the second of three Muse-class ships to be built for Silversea Cruises.The new ultra-luxury cruise ship was launched on August 29 at Fincantieri’s Ancona yard and is set to enter the ship owner’s fleet in 2020.The ceremony was attended, among others, by Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Chairman of Silversea, while Fincantieri was represented by Giovanni Stecconi, Ancona Shipyard Director.The godmother of the ceremony was Miss Roberta Bonisiol, an employee of the shipbuilding group.“Silver Moon” will be a sister ship of “Silver Muse”, which took the sea in 2017, and of “Silver Dawn” due to delivery in 2021.

Fincantieri's Ancona Lays Keel for Seven Seas Splendor

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has held a keel laying ceremony for Seven Seas Splendor, the second cruise ship being built for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on June 28, 2018. The delivery is scheduled for 2020. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, who was welcomed by Giovanni Stecconi, the Fincantieri Ancona yard manager. Like her sister ship “Seven Seas Explorer”, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, the new vessel will be 55,000 gross tonnes with accommodation for 750 passengers. She will be built using the very latest in environmental protection technologies.

Shipbuilding: Fincantieri Floats Out Viking Jupiter

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri said it has floated out the sixth ocean cruise ship in a series for owner Viking Cruises.The new vessel, Viking Jupiter, which is under construction at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona, will now undergo interior outfitting before its scheduled delivery in 2019.As its sister ships, Viking Jupiter will have a gross tonnage of about 47,800 tons, 465 cabins with accommodation for 930 passengers, placing the vessel in the small cruise ship segment.The float out ceremony included the traditional coin ceremony…

Fincantieri: Viking Sea launched in Ancona

“Viking Sea”, the second of three ships which Fincantieri is currently building for the company Viking Ocean Cruises, was launched today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona. Interior fittings will now begin, leading the ship to its delivery scheduled in spring 2016. “Viking Star”, the first sister ship, has been delivered in March: Fincantieri is already working on “Viking Sky”, the third unit of the agreement, that will be delivered as well in the shipyard in Ancona at the beginning of 2017. The ceremony was attended by Karine Hagen, godmother of the launching and daughter of Torstein Hagen, founder and CEO of Viking Cruises, while Fincantieri was represented among others by Giovanni Stecconi, Director of the shipyard in Ancona.

Fincantieri launch 'Le Soleil', a super luxury cruise ship for French shipping line Compagnie du Ponent (Bridgepoint Group). The ship will be delivered in June 2013 and will be essentially more like a mega yacht in size and fitting out with a paramount attention to interior detail. Le Soleil, which will fly the French flag, is the third twin following "L'Austral" and "Le Boreal", the two mini cruise ships delivered in May 2010 and April 2011 respectively.
