Ocean LNG Leads in Contracted Capacity

Ocean LNG has dominated in terms of long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) import volumes for contracts signed by key purchasing companies for the year 2019, with almost 47% of the global contracted capacity.According to a report by GlobalData, Ocean LNG signed the biggest long-term LNG contract for 2019 with Golden Pass Products. According to the contract, Golden Pass Products will supply Ocean LNG with 15.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for a period of 20 years, from 2024 to 2044.The gas will be supplied from the Golden Pass II LNG liquefaction terminal in Texas, US, it said.Sunrita Dutta, Oil and Gas Analyst at GlobalData, explains: “Ocean LNG is a joint venture (JV) between Qatar Petroleum, which owns a 70% stake, and Exxon Mobil Corporation, with 30%.

US Signs Highest LNG Export Contract

US signed highest volume of global long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG)  export contracts in 2019, accounting for around a 67% of global share. Abundant shale gas production in the US has enabled the country to export natural gas as LNG. to global markets. According to GlobalData, the US has signed five long-term contracts in 2019 for the export of 22.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG. Oil&Gas Industry Records 1242 Contracts in Q1

The Oil and Gas industry reported 1242 contracts, of which 1178 were awarded contracts, said Quarterly Oil & Gas Industry Contracts Review.Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region recorded the most contracts with 569 contracts, representing around 48% of the total awarded contracts in Q1 2019, followed by Americas region with 366 contracts, accounting for 31% of the total awarded contracts.Upstream sector reported 73% of the total awarded contracts, with 862 contracts. US Authorizes Non-FTA LNG Export from Golden Pass

The U.S. Department of Energy announced that it has signed an order authorizing Golden Pass Products LLC to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries that do not have a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States. Golden Pass is authorized to export LNG up to the equivalent of 2.21 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas to any non-FTA country not prohibited by U.S. law or policy from the Golden Pass Terminal near Sabine Pass, in Jefferson County, Texas. Golden Pass Announce Agreement to Export Gas to U.K.

Golden Pass Products LLC (GPP) affiliates Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) and ExxonMobil signed a framework agreement for the proposed liquefaction project at the Sabine Pass, Texas terminal. The agreement establishes a commercial framework to sell up to the full 15.6 million metric ton annual (MTA) output of the Golden Pass Products liquefaction project and provide shipping and sales opportunities to existing and new markets, including leveraging the sponsors’ long- term arrangements for international imports via the United Kingdom’s South Hook facility.
