Following the launch of the C32B 2025 MHP engine, Caterpillar Marine has announced the release of the new Cat C32B Triple Turbo 2433 MHP (2400BHP) high-performance marine engine, with a rated engine speed of 2,300 rpm.With a 20% increase in power output, the C32B Triple Turbo engine leverages the same core engine upgrades as the C32B 2025 MHP rating while offering additional features and benefits, the manufacturer said. Sweden-based OXE Marine said it has delivered its first 300-horsepower diesel outboard engine after it commenced production of the new model in May. After passing rigorous quality tests, the first OXE300 units are now ready to be shipped to customers. The production of OXE300 will ramp up and move to new production facility in July.Designed, tested and produced in house by OXE Marine, the OXE300, derives its power from a three-liter six-cylinder bi-turbo automotive diesel engine.

John Deere Power Systems is shipping the new PowerTech 4045SFM85 marine engine to boat owners and builders. The manufacturer touts the PowerTech 4045SFM85's power-to-weight, torque and compact size, saying it is suited for planing and semi-displacement hulls.The PowerTech 4045SFM85 engine has two ratings:--  M4 rating with 205 kW (275 hp) at 2600 rpm and--  M5 rating with 235 kW (315 hp) at 2800 rpm. These ratings are ideal for light-duty commercial vessels, high-speed governmental applications and high-speed pleasure crafts.

MJP Waterjets won one of the largest contracts ever in the market for waterjets, worth $15.3m. MJP Waterjets will supply waterjets for 36 high-speed interceptor boats for the Indian coast guard. The high-speed interceptor boats will be designed and constructed by the Indian engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro, which is MJP Waterjets’s contractual party. Deliveries of waterjets will take place during 2010-2013. The record order for the Indian coast guard is the company’s first order in India and now a total of 22 countries have selected MJP Waterjets for their governmental applications. The order was won in tough international competition, where technical performance and life cycle cost determined the choice of MJP Waterjets as supplier.
