Cotton, Cox, Harris Receive '14 AOTOS Awards

The United Seamen's Service (USS) 2014 Admiral of the Ocean Sea Awards (AOTOS) were presented to Stephen Cotton, General Secretary of the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF); Joseph J. Cox, President/CEO, Chamber of Shipping of America; and Frederick J. Harris, President of General Dynamics NASSCO and Bath Iron Works, an American shipbuilder. The maritime industry's most prestigious awards were presented at a gala industry dinner and dance held at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, New York City, on November 7, 2014.

ASNE to Host Gala and Navy Yard Tribute

Join the American Society of Naval Engineers on Thursday, February 20, for the Annual ASNE Honors Gala. A reception will open the night in the exhibit hall from 6-7, p.m., followed by the Awards Ceremony from 7-8:30. 2012 Annual ASNE Award Winners

Each year, the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) celebrates excellence in naval engineering by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of the industry. 2012 Gold Medal Award (Engineering) Recipient - RADM Thomas J. Eccles, USN Presented annually since 1958, the Gold Medal is given to an individual who has made a significant naval engineering contribution in a particular area during the past five years. ASNE Seeks Nominations for Annual Awards

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Annual Awards Program celebrates excellence in the profession by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in one or more facets of naval engineering. •    The Harold E. •    The Frank G. •    The Claud A. •    The Frank C. •    The Clifford G. Geiger Award for naval logistics. Nominations may be submitted by individuals or by organizations. The deadline for submitting nominations is 15 November 2010.

ASNE Day Slated for June 25 and 26

In Arlington, Virginia The American Society of Naval Engineers will ASNE Day on June 25 & 26. This event will address the challenge that is associated with designing and building naval ships and how important it is to take advantage of electric power systems. The event will include principal speakers like Gene Taylor, a panel that will be giving out information about affordable ship building, and technical paper sessions that include topics like modeling & simulation, as well as high power combat systems and sensors. Industry Icon Lester Rosenblatt Leaves an Indelible Mark

On June 15, 2003, Lester Rosenblatt passed away at the age of 83.
