Under the Bridge: Heerema's Crane Vessel Thialf Enters Baltic Sea (PHOTOS)

Dutch offshore installation firm Heerema Marine Contractors said Monday its semi-submersible crane vessel had crossed the Storebaelt Bridge, known as the ‘gate to the Baltic Sea.'"This crossing is the first time a Heerema crane vessel has accessed the region and is the result of innovative crane alterations to enable passage below the bridge. Offshore Energy 2011: Confidence in O&G

As energy demand is rising again, the year 2011 marks a turning point in the oil & gas industry with increased investments in the entire value chain. Offshore Energy in Amsterdam (11 & 12 October 2011), clearly reflects the confidence that governs the industry today. In four years time, the number of participants has quadrupled. For this year's edition, event organizer Navingo is considering an expansion of the hall to 10,000 sq.m. The original 8,000 sq. m. exhibition floor at Amsterdam RAI, which will host Offshore Energy 2011, has rapidly filled up. In no time at all, over 250 stands were sold - well over 80% of the expected number of stands.

Dockwise Plans Oslo Listing

According to Dow Jones Dockwise Ltd. will launch an initial public offering on the Oslo Stock Exchange by Oct. 12. The IPO will give Dockwise shareholders 3i Group (III.LN) and Frontline Ltd. ( FRO.LN) the opportunity to sell part of their combined 47% stake in the company, the chief executive said. The company's management owns a 6% stake in Dockwise, and the remaining 47% of the company is traded in the Norwegian over-the-counter market. The company wants to have a formal listing to increase liquidity and exposure. The reason it chooses Oslo is that there are a lot of analysts and investors in the country with knowledge and interest in the offshore industry, Goedee said.
