Mintra Group Acquires Atlas Knowledge

The HR, competence and training specialist Mintra Group said it has acquired Aberdeen headquartered learning technology services firm Atlas Knowledge.The move will bring both Aberdeen operations together to offer learning and competency systems and services to customers in the oil and gas, maritime, aviation, construction and energy sectors.With a turnover of around £15 million, Mintra employs more than 100 people globally and is backed by investor The Riverside Company. Seagull Maritime AS debuts STA 4.0

Seagull Maritime AS has launched Seagull Training Administrator 4.0, an updated version of the shipping industry’s most widely used training administrator, in a move the company says makes computer-based packages even easier to use. Norway-based Seagull Maritime has built on customer feedback gathered over a number of years to extend and improve STA 4.0’s user workflow and functionality, and to add new functions, with the entire overhaul neatly presented via a new user interface. Vopak Asia Contracts Ramco for HR Systems

Ramco Systems has  announced that it has been awarded a five-year contract from the Asia division of Vopak, the world’s largest independent tank storage provider, to integrate a part of its regional Human Resource functions into a single platform. Ramco will offer its HRO (Human Resource Outsourcing) services on top of Ramco’s HCM (Human Capital Management) product which is being used by leading multinationals globally. Under the five-year contract, Ramco’s HCM Solution and HRO Services will be made available to more than 700 employees across eight Vopak entities in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and India. Gibdock Makes Back-Office Software Improvements

Gibraltar-based ship repair yard Gibdock says it starting to reap the benefits of investing in an automated and harmonised estimating, quotation, specification and invoicing system. The state of the art Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system overarches the yard’s finance, stock management, project management & HR systems, and is part of a strategic back-office upgrade. The new software delivers a seamless administration operation that Gibdock expects will offer customers better documentation of its acknowledged record for quality control. First phase development, combining off-the-shelf and bespoke elements, went live at the turn of the year, with the second,  more yard-specific phase being rolled out before the end of  2014.

Survey: E-Commerce is Top Priority for E&P Companies

In a survey of chief information officers (CIOs) at leading North American independent oil and gas producers, Zeus Development Corporation has learned that most rate e-commerce as their top priority for 2001. "We learned that most mid-market independents (some 300 companies worldwide that have between $10 million and $14 billion in oil and gas reserves) are interested in Internet-based technology to help them expand offshore and overseas," said Bob Nimocks, president of Zeus Development Corporation, the sponsor of the survey and organizer of the E-Business for E&P: Examining Inside- and Outside-the-Firewall Solutions for Independents conference. "We conducted the survey to learn of the key topics these independents want to learn about.
