IHC Services Secures Dredger Repair Contract

IHC Services, a subsidiary of Dutch shipbuilder and repairer Royal IHC, informs it has secured an order for a renovation project for a dredging vessel owned by Huta Marine Works Ltd in Saudi Arabia. The contract calls for work on the HUTA 14 self-propelled cutter suction dredger (SPCSD) to be carried out by IHC Middle East based in Dubai and the Service Operations department in The Netherlands for a renovation that involves the replacement of three large diesel engines, as well as the electrical installation for the underwater pump drive.

NYK's First RORO Terminal in S. Arabia

NYK signed a joint-venture agreement with Ports Development Company (PDC)* to establish NYK’s first exclusive RORO terminal operating company at King Abdullah port (KAP)** on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. This terminal named KAP RORO Terminal, which is the first exclusive RORO terminal in Saudi Arabia, is planned to commence full operations by 3rd quarter 2016. The joint venture will be the first automotive logistics base for the NYK Group in the Middle East. State-of-the-Art Dredger Launched

IHC Merwede named and launched the 23,545 kW self-propelled cutter suction dredger ‘AL BAHAR’ C/D HUTA 12 in a ceremony on March 8, 2014 at the company’s shipyard in Kinderdijk, The Netherlands. It is building the innovative vessel for Huta Marine Works, which is based in Saudi Arabia. The ceremony was performed by Sylvia Wuebbens, the daughter of M. Wuebbens, the Managing Director of Huta Marine Works. The contract for the design, construction and delivery of the vessel was signed between Huta Marine Works and IHC Holland, part of IHC Merwede, on October 11, 2012.

IHC Merwede says it has been successful in securing orders worth € 350 million for a wide range of dredging and offshore vessels and equipment, including a large trailing suction dredger for a Chinese customer. The company's Dredging division has confirmed new contracts for the delivery of a large custom-built trailing suction hopper dredger, with units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers as well as a cutter suction dredger training simulator. IHC Merwede Wins Dredging and Offshore Orders

IHC Merwede has secured orders worth €350 million for a wide range of dredging and offshore vessels and equipment. The company’s Dredging division has confirmed new contracts for the delivery of a large custom-built trailing suction hopper dredger, 13 units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers and a cutter suction dredger training simulator. The Offshore division has also announced orders for the construction of a 300-metric-ton pipelaying vessel, as well as a J-Lay pipelaying system and a tandem mooring system.

IHC Merwede Secures New Orders

IHC Merwede announced that it has recently secured orders to the value of €125 million for a wide range of new cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) and related equipment. The latest sales agreements confirmed by the company include a new custom-built CSD and a further 12 units that will be supplied by IHC Beaver Dredgers. The contract for the custom-built CSD has been entrusted to IHC Merwede by Huta Marine Works for the design, engineering and construction of an innovative self-propelled vessel.
