Hyde Guardian BWTS for Edison Chouest Fleet

Hyde Marine, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgon Carbon Corporation, has been selected as a strategic supply partner for ballast water treatment (BWT) systems by Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) for use on ECO’s fleet of vessels. The chemical free Hyde Guardian Gold BWT system, which has both International Maritime Organization (IMO) Type Approval and United States Coast Guard (USCG) Alternative Management System (AMS) approval, uses efficient filtration and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to treat ships' ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port.

Hyde Marine to Implement NIOZ System Testing

Hyde Marine, Inc. announced today it will begin using a new ballast water test system, B-box, recently made available from the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) to help ballast water treatment (BWT) technology companies conduct accurate analysis regarding the concentrations of chemicals or organisms present in ballast water. The B-box testing service was designed by NIOZ to help BWT companies and shipowners test BWT system operation and the physical and chemical variables that may be present in the ships’ ballast water. Hyde Posts Record Delivery, Commissioning and Sales

Hyde Marine, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgon Carbon Corporation (CCC), announced it has delivered more than 200 Hyde GUARDIAN Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) Systems and commissioned more than 100 for operation on a variety of vessels around the world, based on sales of more than 275 units. In commenting about the milestones, John Platz, President, Hyde Marine, said, "We are committed to providing the maritime industry with the most innovative and advanced ballast water treatment technology, which complies with approved and pending ballast water regulations. Hyde Names Cammell Laird U.K. Installation Partner

Hyde Marine, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgon Carbon Corporation, announced today it has established a partnership agreement with Cammell Laird, the largest shipyard in the United Kingdom, for installation of the chemical free Hyde GUARDIAN (HG) Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) System. Cammell Laird had previously been tapped by the Royal Navy–Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) for installation of Hyde GUARDIAN systems ranging from 150m3/hr to 1,000m3/hr onto five naval vessels. The most recent installation was a complex retrofit in June 2013 of a HG1000X onboard the RFA's Fast Fleet Tanker "Wave Ruler" at Cammell Laird's Birkenhead yard.

Hyde Guardian BWTS Earns USCG Approval

Calgon Carbon Corporation announced that its Hyde Guardian Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS), developed and manufactured by its wholly owned subsidiary, Hyde Marine, Inc., became one of the first BWTS to earn Alternate Management System (AMS) approval from the United States Coast Guard (USCG). AMS approval is a first step to achieving full USCG Type Approval and is an interim measure that allows these BWTS to be used on vessels for five years after the vessel is required to comply with the USCG Ballast Water Discharge Standards.

Hyde Guardian BWT for Russian Icebreaker

Calgon Carbon Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, Hyde Marine, Inc., has announced  that its Hyde Guardian  Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) HG600 unit will be installed on the largest icebreaker in the FSUE "Rosmorport" fleet – the 22600 project, a 25 mWt-power diesel vessel. The contract is the first awarded to Hyde Marine in Russia for new vessel construction. The 22600 project will be delivered in 2015 and installed at Baltic Shipyard, one of the leading enterprises in the Russian shipbuilding industry. Type Approval for Hyde Guardian BWT System

Hyde Marine, Inc., a Lamor Group company, has received final Type Approval for the Hyde Guardian Ballast Water Management System. The Type Approval Certificate has been issued by Lloyd’s Register on behalf of the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency to confirm compliance with guidelines contained in IMO resolution MEPC.174(58). This approval covers the complete range of Hyde Guardian systems with capacities from 60 m3/hr to 6000 m3/hr, allowing Hyde to satisfy the requirements of all vessel types and sizes.
