Richard Bludworth Bludworth Marine LLC

Running a ship repair business in the U.S. is anything but simple, with the unexpected being the norm and a cavalcade of new regulations. But Richard Bludworth has a penchant for turning the difficult simple. A staple in the Gulf of Mexico,  Bludworth Marine LLC was founded by Richard Bludworth in 1998, strictly as a topside repair facility. Today the Bludworth Marine  reach stretches to four waterfront facilities  on the 103 mile run between Orange to Galveston, TX, with its HQ in Houston.

ShowBoats Int’l Award to Burger Boat’s Ingot

Burger Boat Company is announced the presentation of the 19th Annual ShowBoats International Award for Best Motor Yacht Under 50m to Ingot, a 153-ft Tri Deck Motor Yacht, on October 31, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This award recognizes a motor yacht that accomplishes the goals of her owner, builder and designer with undeniable style. Burger Boat Company’s Ingot premiered at the 2008 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show and was extremely popular at the 2009 Monaco Yacht Show. Designed to be an environmentally friendly yacht, Ingot provides 5,025 square feet of interior space and 4,150 square feet of exterior deck and leisure space.

Burger Boat Tò-Kalòn & Ingot Award Finalists

Burger Boat Company announced that Tò-Kalòn, a 2008 101.5-ft Enclosed Bridge Motor Yacht  and INGOT, a 2008 153-ft Tri-Deck Motor Yacht have been selected by the International Superyacht Society membership as finalists for the 2009 International Superyacht Society Design Awards in their respective categories. Each year the International Superyacht Society recognizes yacht owners, builders, designers, interior designers, naval architects and stylists at its annual awards gala. This year’s awards ceremony will be held Thursday October 29, 2009 during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Burger Boat’s Ingot, World Superyacht Awards

On May 16, 2009 INGOT, a 2008 Burger/Vripack designed 153 ft custom tri-deck motor yacht, was honored with a Judges' Commendation at the 2009 World Superyachts Awards in London’s Guildhall.  This commendation specifically recognizes INGOT’s design and construction. (www.burgerboat.com)

Ingot and Tò-Kalòn Nominated for Awards

Burger Boat Company announced that Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines have nominated Tò-Kalòn, a 101 ft Burger Enclosed Bridge Motor Yacht, for “Most Innovative Exterior Yacht Design of the Year” and INGOT, a 153 ft Burger Tri-Deck Motor Yacht, for “Best Motor Yacht” (86 feet and up) for the 2009 Asia Boating Awards. The Annual Asia Boating Award was created by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines to recognize the best of the maritime industry. This year the event will be held during China’s premier boating event…

INGOT Nominated, World Superyacht Awards

Burger Boat Company announced that INGOT,  a 153 ft Tri-Deck Motor Yacht, has been selected as a finalist for Boat International’s World Superyacht Awards in the category of “Best Displacement Motor Yacht Of Below 500gt.” Boat International Media will be presenting the fourth annual World Superyacht Award on May 16, 2009 at London’s historic Guildhall. The World Superyacht Awards are designed to recognize the talents of naval architects, designers, builders and ultimately, the visions of the owners who bring together the teams that work to create these vessels.

Burger Boat Receives Interior Design Award

Burger Boat Company announced that INGOT, a 153 ft Tri Deck Motor Yacht was presented with the inaugural Michael C. Fina Interior Design Award at the ShowBoats International Cavallino Yacht Hop on January 23, 2009. This new award is for design excellence and was launched by the purveyors of interior design accoutrements; Michael C. Fina. As Steven Fina commented, “Every single yacht considered had something unique, but we were looking beyond the ‘wow’ factor. Our winner needed to reflect our benchmarks for individuality; innovation; distinctiveness; continuity; versatility; timeless look and feel; and brilliance of overall concept. Michael C.

Hydro and Talum Enter Agreement

Hydro Aluminium has entered into a long-term purchase agreement with the Slovenian aluminium producer Talum for foundry alloy casthouse products. Talum will supply Hydro with an average of 70,000 tonnes of foundry alloy products per year over the next seven years. This new supply contract comes in addition to the ongoing agreement under which Hydro annually purchases approximately 50,000 tonnes of extrusion ingot from Talum. The new purchase agreement will start 1 January 2004 and run through 2010. Hydro and Talum have been cooperating closely since 1987, including Hydro's supply of alumina for Talum's primary aluminium production.

Cargo Ship Missing, Feared Hijacked

A Japanese cargo ship has been missing since its departure in Indonesia Oct. 22, prompting fears that it might have been hijacked. Alondra Rainbow, carrying 7,000 tons of aluminum ingot produced at PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum smelter, was scheduled to arrive at Miike port in Kyushu late in October, an official at Nippon Asahan Co. Ltd. said. The official said that the company lost contact with the ship soon after it left Kuala Tanjung port on Oct. 22.
