CWind Provides Vessels for E.ON Offshore Maintenance

CWind, an  integrated service provider in the offshore wind industry, has announced that it supplied Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) to assist with blade repair operations at the offshore wind farm for E.ON, the wind farm site owner at Robin Rigg.  For E.ON, CWind supplied a MPC19 vessel and the SWATH Endurance. The MPC19 benefits from having a low operating draft, which makes it equipped to operate in the shallow waters at the Robin Rigg site, while the SWATH Endurance enables technician transfer in rougher seas. CWind said it has extensive experience in the maintenance and support of offshore wind farms and, in recent years, has undertaken contracts with other clients for similar work at Lincs, Rhyl flats and Lynn & Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms.

LINCS Offshore Wind Farm Cable Installed

Centrica Renewables Energy has confirmed that Global Marine Energy., the independent provider of subsea power cable installation, maintenance and related engineering services worldwide, has successfully completed its portion of the cable landing and near shore cable works related to the export cable at the LINCS Offshore wind farm. Global Marine Energy installed the approximately 8km of 132 kV subsea power cable utilising the cable barge Nautilus Maxi which had been modified to meet the unique requirements of the project. The LINCS offshore wind farm is located off the east coast of the United Kingdom is a joint venture between Centrica (50%) DONG Energy and Siemens Project Ventures.

Tideland Consortium Combines to Provide Wind Farm Service

Tideland Signal, Dabbrook Services and Tranberg Systems of Denmark have joined forces to present a comprehensive service for specifying, supply and installation of navigation warning systems and all other low-voltage equipment on offshore wind farms on stand 321 at Global Offshore Wind, ExCel London from 13 to 14 June. Tideland Signal is a leading global supplier of navigational aids and solar power systems to the world's ports, harbours and offshore industries, while its sister company, Dabbrook Services Ltd.

Bolton Joins OMM as Director Ops & Maintenance

Subsea cable specialist, Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has strengthened its position in operation and maintenance with the recruitment of industry specialist, Stephen Bolton to the newly created position of Director of Operations and Maintenance. Stephen has more than 10 years experience in the emerging renewable energy market, in both the onshore and offshore wind sectors. His background includes his recent work as Offshore Operations Implementation Manager at RWE Innogy where he established one of the industry’s first dedicated teams to focus on the operations and maintenance methodology for large far shore wind farms on a portfolio basis. On establishing the strategy, he was responsible for its implementation on the Gwynt y Mor and Nord See Ost projects, among others.

South Boats Launches Wind Farm SV

South Boats Special Projects Ltd. commissioned another Offshore Wind Farm Service Vessel for Offshore Wind Power Marine Services Ltd. of Conwy, North Wales for a long term contract with Dong Energy on Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm.
