Parker Hannifin Acquires Kittiwake Group

Alliance provides total system health management to customers. Kittiwake Group, a leading global provider of asset control and protection technology, has been acquired by Parker Hannifin Corp., the global leader in motion and control technologies. The transaction is designed to offer greater value with a comprehensive and innovative range of products and solutions and includes the acquisition of the entire Kittiwake Group, including Kittiwake Developments Ltd, Kittiwake Procal Limited, Kittiwake Holroyd Limited and Kittiwake Incorporated. The two companies complement each other; dealing within the same markets but with clear differentiation in product ranges.

Kittiwake Acquires Holroyd

Kittiwake Developments, a provider of asset control and protection technology, has announced the acquisition of Holroyd Instruments, an acoustic emission technology manufacturer. The newly named Kittiwake Holroyd supplies acoustic emission instruments for the early detection of problems in a wide range of applications, all relating to monitoring the condition of rotating machinery. Suitable for continuously running machinery as well as machinery operating intermittently or for short durations, acoustic emission allows the user to diagnose problems with machinery at an early stage, carry out maintenance procedures and then monitor the improvement.

Kittiwake Acquires Procal

Kittiwake Developments today announced the acquisition of Procal, a manufacturer of in-situ, multi component continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). The newly-named Kittiwake Procal can supply CEMS for a very wide range of applications, spanning power generation, marine and offshore, cement, incineration, refineries, paper and pulp, steel, nitric acid and fertilizers. Complying with international standards including EN14181 and US EPA 40 cfr Parts 60 & 75 for the measurement of NO, NO2, SO2, CO, CO2, H2O, the in-situ analyzers monitor and measure emissions accurately and reliably. “There are clear synergies between the two businesses,” said Chris Leigh-Jones, Director, Kittiwake Developments.

Nalfleet Marine Tests Kittiwake's Equipment

Nalfleet Marine Chemicals, the marine division of specialty water treatment company, Ondeo Nalco, has selected Kittiwake developments for its test kits and equipment. Nalfleet, which supplies on-board water treatment chemicals, maintenance products, automation systems and associated services to the worldwide shipping industry, also provides a comprehensive range of test kits, replacement reagents and analytical equipment for this purpose. Other improvements included a complete revision of test kit instructions to a more user friendly and durable format and offering to consolidate all Nalfleet's deliveries for export, an activity that they previously had to do in-house, whilst still achieving a substantial saving over the existing arrangement.

IBIA Elects New Executive Members

At its recent general meeting in London, the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) elected new officers to its executive. Chris Leigh-Jones of Kittiwake Developments Ltd was elected the association's new chairman. He replaces Ivar Tonsen of Gearbulk and was previously IBIA's vice chairman.; the association's new vice chairman is Nicholas Ladis of NL Transol in Greece; David Peart of Tyne Tees Bunkering retired as honorary secretary. Paul Dyke of Tramp Oil takes over in this role; and Angus Ogilvie of Cockett Marine continues his term as honorary treasurer. "This is a strong management team and it will help guide and shape IBIA's efforts over the next two years.

Post Joints Kittiwake

David Post has been appointed as Sales Manager, Kittiwake Developments Ltd. Formerly with marine fuels and lubricants supplier, FAMM, Post takes on the responsibility for Kittiwake’s sales planning, coordination and development, including the management of the company’s global distributor and dealer network. He will also coordinate the ongoing development of product sales and key account management within Kittiwake.

Kittiwake Appoints Lucas

Kittiwake Developments Limited, a leader in onsite and online condition monitoring equipment for fuel oil, lubricating oil and industrial water announced the appointment of Martin Lucas as Managing Director.
