The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers has officially welcomed its new senior officers at a Controlling Council meeting held in Athens, Greece.Taking over from Glenn Murphy as International Chair of the Institute is Luis Bernat. Yinson GreenTech (YGT) and the Goal Zero Consortium led by SeaTech Solutions have officially launched Hydromover, a lightweight, 18.5 meter vessel that has become Singapore’s first fully electric cargo vessel.The vessel is designed with swappable battery solutions and can carry up to 25 tonnes of cargo. The OPEC Fund for International Development has signed an agreement with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to join the Energy Transition Accelerator Financing (ETAF) platform.The platform is a global initiative that seeks to mobilise funds for renewable energy investments. The OPEC Fund plans to support the platform with up to USD 250 million financing until 2030 to finance renewable energy solutions in its partner countries.The ETAF platform, established by IRENA and backed by the United Arab Emirates, initially aimed to mobilise at least USD one billion of capital by 2030.

Global engineering and defense technologies provider Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced today the promotion of Edmond Hughes to executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Hughes, formerly the vice president of human resources and administration contracts at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division and at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding since 2006, will replace William “Bill” R. Dutch dredging, marine and offshore services company Van Oord said it has signed partnership agreements with LexX and Heliorec, two start-ups scouted through the innovation platform PortXL. The signing ceremony took place during the shakedown event on December 2 marking the end of this year's PortXL program.Van Oord is one of the founders of PortXL and a main sponsor of the PortXL program for the sixth year in a row. Qatar based  S'hail Shipping and Maritime Services has added two panamax dry bulk carrier into the Baumarine pool, a specialized panamax, kamsarmax and post-panamax pool run by Torvald Klaveness.The Norwegian shipping company said in a press note that the good vessels MV S’hail al Rayan and MV S’hail al Dukhan of S’hail Shipping recently joined its pool.Head of Pool Management at Klaveness, Hans Næss Olstad explained, “With this fourth and fifth vessel in the Baumarine Pool, S’hail has become a successful example of cooperation and optimization of resources to streamline their spot trade without having the positional and counterpart risk. They benefit from the Klaveness deal flow and our chartering offices in Oslo, Singapore, and Dubai.

German solution provider to the marine and energy sectors, MAN Energy Solutions (MES) has signed a Global Key Account Management contract with Hong Kongbased Wallem Group.The contract covers the supply of spares and services to MAN main engines, generators and turbochargers aboard vessels managed by Wallem, the provider of technology-driven maritime solutions.According to a press release from Augsburg-based MES, the global agreement covers all offices of the Wallem Group and provides access to a dedicated global and local key account manager from MAN PrimeServ, MAN Energy Solutions’ after-sales division. American engineering company KBR announced  it has been awarded a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract by Oman LNG L.L.C for the debottlenecking of their facility at Sur in the Sultanate of Oman.Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide FEED services for the debottlenecking project to increase production at its world-class plant in Sur.
