Shipping Lines CEO Meet at Busan Port to Attract Int’l Passengers

Busan Port Authority (BPA, president WOO Ye-jong) stated that BPA held a meeting for KOR·JPN passenger liners(six companies) and Busan Tourism Organization on the 30th in order to attract more international passengers to the Busan Port. The meeting aims to vitalize the local tourism industry which is stagnated from domestic economic recession and boom of low cost carrier.   BPA plans to continue its effort to improve passenger service at Busan Port and to stregnthen cooperation with shipping liners and tourism organization by having regular meetings between private and public sectors.

Dana, Crescent Restore LPG Capacity in Kurdistan

Dana Gas PJSC, a Middle East private-sector natural gas company, and Crescent Petroleum, a Middle East’s private oil and gas company, in their capacity as joint operators, have announced the completion of the rebuild of the LPG loading and dispatch facilities at the Kor Mor LPG Plant in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. US Navy Radar Jamming Contract for KOR Electronics

Mercury Computer Systems' subsidiary KOR Electronics gets a US Navy 5-year basic sole source orderiing agreement (BOA). This BOA supports the continued development of state-of-the-art techniques and target generation capabilities in conjunction with the advanced Digital RF Memory (DRFM) architecture developed under a prior Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II.5 award issued to KOR Electronics. The BOA provides for research and development, production, engineering services and ongoing support and is valued at up to $58M. "This agreement is a perfect example of how the SBIR program can benefit our country's defense and small business," said Kevin Carnino, KOR Electronics President and Chief Executive Officer.

Missing Fishermen Located in Gulf of Mexico

A Coast Guard flight crew located the two men earlier reported missing between Brownsville, Texas and Tampico, Mexico in the Gulf of Mexico. Missing were Manuel Gallardo Castillo and Faulsto Gomez Jr. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi, Texas received a call from the agent of the shrimping vessel, El Abuelo, that the vessel was overduel. Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi launched an HU-25 Falcon fixed-wing aircraft and crew to search along the intended track line of the vessel. The Falcon crew located and made radio contact with the El Abuelo. The men reported that they had become disabled with a malfunctioning fuel pump.
