Liebherr: Broken Hook Cause of Orion Crane Collapse

Liebherr Offshore Cranes Accessing New Markets
Liebherr’s maritime manufacturing plant in Rostock has been awarded the contract to supply the heavy-lift crane for the Orion, a new wind farm installation and platform decommissioning vessel ordered by DEME from COSCO (QiDong) Offshore, a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry. The New Liebherr LHM 420 Mobile Harbour Crane
Liebherr is again expanding its range of Mobile Harbour Cranes and is taking the opportunity of the TOC Europe 2011 to present the new model LHM 420. This new heavyweight crane is the successor of the LHM 400 and bridges the gap between the LHM 550 and the LHM 280. The LHM 420 will be available in two variants with maximum lifting capacities of 84 and 124 tonnes. Maximum radius is 48 meters making the LHM 420 ideal for loading and unloading from a wide variety of vessels, from Handysize to Post-Panamax class.
