Maersk Oil, a unit of Danish conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk, has agreed to sell stakes in three North Sea fields to RockRose Energy, the latest new entrant into the ageing basin. RockRose suspended trading on Wednesday before announcing it has agreed non-binding headline terms and a period of exclusivity from Maersk Oil North Sea UK to acquire its non-operated 7.4 percent interest in the Wytch Farm field, a 5.2 percent interest in the Scott fields and a 2.4 percent interest in the Telford field.

DOF Group subsidiary DOF Rederi AS has signed an agreement with Nexen Petroleum UK for Skandi Marstein, MT 6000 design Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). The contract will start in May and is firm until end 2017. DOF Rederi has further signed a three months contract, plus options with Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd. for Skandi Gamma with start up in April.

Harkand won a multi-million dollar contract with Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd to deliver subsea support services to the operator including a commissioning support campaign for the Flyndre development located in the south-eastern part of the Central Graben Basin in the North Sea. Maersk Oil North Sea UK limited has contracted MODEC, Inc. to supply a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel for the Culzean development project in the U.K. Central North Sea. The contract awards MODEC responsibility for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the FSO, while the internal turret mooring system will be designed and supplied by MODEC subsidiary SOFEC, Inc. The FSO will feature receiving capacity of 25,000 barrels of condensate per day, with storage capacity of 350,000 barrels. MODEC president and CEO, Toshiro Miyazaki, noted that the new contract represents a milestone for the company as it marks MODEC's entry into the North Sea oil and gas industry. MODEC said it expects to deliver the complete unit to Maersk Oil UK in the first half of 2018.

Harkand's key shareholder Oaktree Capital Management has reaffirmed a strong commitment with an additional $25 million of funding which will allow the company to expand its footprint in new and existing regions. Harkand won a multi-million contract with Maersk Oil North Sea Ltd for the provision of DSV services in the North Sea region. The 12-month contract will be serviced by Harkand’s two DSVs, the Harkand Da Vinci and Harkand Atlantis, supported by project management and engineering from Harkand’s Aberdeen office. The contract covers well tie-ins, structure installation, piling, flexible flowline lay, flexible riser installation, pre-commissioning, riser recovery, decommissioning and general inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) work.

After having performed a walk to work (W2W) campaign in the summer of 2014, Motion Compensation Gangways (MCG) developer Ampelmann has again been awarded a contract from Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited (MOUK) covering the time charter of its A-Type. MOUK will use the Ampelmann system for a shutdown campaign in the U.K. sector of the central North Sea to extend the weather window and increase workability and efficiency. During the W2W campaign in 2014, MOUK was able to increase efficiency with approximately 25% compared to the 2013 W2W campaign by using the Ampelmann, the company noted.

BP and its partner, Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited, announced the approval of FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) for the Harding Area Gas Project. This is the first stage of a development project to allow the production of gas from the Harding area and prolong the life of the field beyond 2015. The project, which comprises a new gas processing platform bridge-linked to the existing Harding platform, will have the potential to process and export gas at rates of up to 400 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscfd). The project would also involve the subsea tie-back of the Devenick field and a gas export pipeline to connect the new gas platform to the existing Brae gas transmission pipeline. The final project approval decision is expected to be made around the end of the year.

Pragma Systems announced it had agreed to a $2.8m contract with Maersk Oil North Sea to provide a technology support center. The three-year contract, with two one-year options, was won by competitive tender and is for the provision of a core team on site at Maersk Oil's Aberdeen office to undertake call management, security administration, desktop support, back-office services, network management and change management.
