Maersk Training, NaMICPA to Set Up GWO Training Center in Nagasaki

Maersk Training and Nagasaki Marine Industry Cluster Promotion Association (NaMICPA) have signed a consultancy agreement, in which Maersk Training provides support to NaMICPA, establishing a training center in Nagasaki, Japan. The preparations for the training center in Nagasaki are funded by the Nippon Foundation. Maersk to Acquire Offshore Training Company ResQ

A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) announces an intended acquisition for its subsidiary Maersk Training of the Norwegian company, ResQ, a supplier of safety training and emergency preparedness in Norway.ResQ has five survival centers in Norway to cater for training in the North Sea and offers more than 70 course titles, while the crisis management part consists of a full emergency response setup. ResQ has 67 permanent employees and over 300 temporary resources spread across the country."ResQ is a well-managed business with renowned competencies within training services.

Maersk Training Pens 'Six-figure' Deal with Boskalis Subsea Services

Maersk Training has said it has won a six-figure contract to provide Training Management Services (TMS) for Boskalis Subsea Services’ 1000-strong global workforce. The contract is for three years with a two-year extension option.Maersk Training will deliver solutions for offshore survival, health, safety and environment, diving operations, and deck operations. Alongside simulation and practical exercises and activities, some of the offerings will also be delivered via Maersk Training’s e-Learning suite.Boskalis offers integrated subsea services to a varied client base throughout the offshore energy industry, operating a global fleet of diving and construction support vessels through a diverse range of Subsea IRM Services.

Maersk Training has named a new UK head of commercial to drive its growth and increase its safety offering for the energy industry.Based in Aberdeen, Paul Hudson will oversee sales, commercial and marketing activities for the company. Maersk Training in the UK announced the launch of its upgraded Training Management Solution (TMS) with the aim to improve the training management for companies dealing with fewer headcount and remote working, amid the coronavirus pandemic.The software is divided into two parts, a mobile app aimed at delegates and a web-based application for the administrators and training facilitators. Maersk Training Bullsh on India

Maersk Training, part of the Denmark based A.P. Moller-Maersk, is betting on the Indian training centre, reports the Hindu. India is one of the 10 Centre’s that is making profits. "While other Maersk training centres are facing issues due to downturn in maritime and oil and gas sectors, India is doing a good job by balancing it. We are ready to provide them a helping hand so that they can tap into global talent pool of trainers to get information, knowledge and content to offer high end and niche courses in oil and gas sector," the Hindu qoted Claus Bihl, Maersk Training Chief Executive Officer as saying. Chennai-based Maersk Training India Pvt. Ltd. has recently received certification from the Logistics Skill Council.

DNV-GL Approves Kongsberg Engine Room Simulators

Kongsberg Maritime has received DNV-GL certification for three of its latest engine room simulator models designed to provide in-depth training on the K-Sim Engine simulator platform. The DNV GL-ST-033:2014-08 Maritime Simulator Systems certification, which is based on the on the requirements of STCW Convention, Regulation I/12, was given to the DE88 Oil Rig, DE66 Drill Ship and M42 AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug & Supply) K-Sim Engine models in June 2015. Maersk, BP Agree to 5 Year Offshore Rig Training Contract

Maersk has signed a five year contract with BP to provide offshore oil rig training at the virtual reality training center the company is currently building in Houston, the companies announced today. Maersk Training will provide BP with advanced training programs for offshore drilling teams at the new center, located in north Houston, which Maersk says will be operational by the end of 2015. BP will train employees and contractors at the facility, which offers what BP calls an "immersive simulation environment" and is based on the design of the company's Denmark offshore simulation complex…

Kongsberg Maritime simulators have been selected for Maersk Training's new centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The delivery to Maersk Training Brazil Treinamentos Maritimos LTDA is under a non-exclusive frame agreement signed earlier by Kongsberg Maritime and Maersk Training. The Kongsberg Offshore Vessel Simulator at Maersk Training Brazil will be operational in the second quarter 2013. The new simulator package includes the advanced Kongsberg Offshore Vessel Simulator integrated with Kongsberg's K-Pos Dynamic Positioning Simulator, which will meet The Nautical Institute's class A requirements.

Kongsberg Simulators for Maersk Training Center

Kongsberg Maritime is providing maritime simulators for Maersk's new State-of-the-art drilling operations and offcshore training facility. Kongsberg Maritime simulators have been selected for the forthcoming MOSAIC 2 facility (Maersk Offshore Simulation and Innovation Centre) at Maersk Training in Svendborg, Denmark. Building officially commenced on the state-of-the-art new facility on the Maersk Training campus on 29th November 2011. A frame agreement signed by Kongsberg Maritime and Maersk Training on December 12th 2011 covers delivery of a range of simulators and ongoing support that will act as the platform for high quality offshore drilling operations training at MOSAIC 2.

Maersk Training Program Addresses the Human Error Factor

A new training program has been launched by Maersk Training that aims to minimize incidents through human error in marine environments. The course is designed to help offshore workers understand the impact of the human error in marine incidents, and enhance their leadership and management skills to prevent them. This course meets the latest mandatory requirements for approved training in the Human Element, Leadership and Management at Management level as directed by the STCW2010 convention and based on the Merchant Navy Training Board’s criteria.

Local unemployed people are benefiting from new careers in the offshore wind industry following their completion of a newly developed qualification offered by Maersk Training in Newcastle, designed to help them take advantage of job opportunities in the thriving U.K. offshore wind energy sector. Following the success of a pilot Diploma course earlier this year, a number of people have recently obtained jobs with BostonEnergy. The various roles include working on Walney Offshore Windfarm in Cumbria and as Technicians on Offshore Siemens Wind Turbines.

Maersk Train Developing Country Seafarers

Twenty-five eager young seafarers will have the opportunity to acquire maritime skills and develop their potential through Maersk Supply Service's recently launched new seafaring programme for Angolans. In a first for the company, the cadets will be trained in India. The initiative will not only benefit Maersk Supply Service, but also help build capacity in the Angolan offshore industry. Angola requires foreign companies operating in the country to employ 70 per cent of their workforce locally over time.

New Helicopter and Helideck Courses from Maersk

Maersk Training announced the launch of two new offshore emergency courses: the OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Member Training and the OPITO 6 Day Combined Helideck and Team Member Training. These two OPITO Accredited courses will kick start this month at the company’s training center in the northeast of Scotland and be delivered using a newly built Helicopter simulator and helideck. Following a significant financial investment last year, Maersk Training in Aberdeen has built a brand new Helicopter Simulator and Helideck fire ground to support its two new courses.
