MAN Diesel & Turbo SE takes Dr. Uwe Lauber on Board

Dr. Uwe Lauber (47) has been appointed to the Executive Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE effective as of 1 October 2014. Dr. Lauber has worked successfully in various management positions within the company since 2000. In his new role he will lead the entire sales and after sales activities of the company from Augsburg. The product portfolio of MAN Diesel & Turbo includes marine propulsion systems as well as engine-based power plants and turbomachinery. “With Dr. Lauber’s appointment to the Executive Board, we anticipate further expansion of worldwide sales across the entire product portfolio of the company,” said Dr. Georg Pachta-Reyhofen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo and CEO of MAN SE. MAN Engines to Power Seismic Vessel in Norway

MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a contract on 7 July 2011 in Frederikshavn, Denmark for the supply of 4 × MAN 8L32/40 engines to power a seismic vessel ordered by Sanco Shipping of Norway. The vessel will be built by Kleven Maritime at Myklebust shipyard in southern Norway and is scheduled for delivery by 31 May, 2013. The four-stroke engines will be constructed in Augsburg, headquarters of MAN Diesel & Turbo and a four-stroke engine production site in its own right. Merger Complete: MAN Diesel & Turbo SE

The merger announced between MAN Diesel SE and MAN Turbo AG to form MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, based in Augsburg, is now complete, the corresponding entry having been made in the register of companies. The process of amalgamating the two former MAN sister companies into one enterprise has thus been achieved. In economic terms, the merger has come into effect retroactively as of 1 January 2010. Merger of MAN Diesel and MAN Turbo

MAN Diesel SE and MAN Turbo AG are to work more closely together in future with the aim of forming a merger with each other under corporate law. By combining the product portfolios, the merged company will strive for further growth and a stronger position in its respective market segments. “This will allow the MAN Group to combine the engine and power plant expertise of the Diesel Engines business area with the compressor and turbine technology of the Turbomachinery business area to form a strong Power Engineering unit for the long term,” said Håkan Samuelsson, Chairman of the Executive Board of MAN SE. MAN Diesel provides large-bore diesel engines for use in ships and power plants, while MAN Turbo specializes in the development and construction of compressors, gas and steam turbines.
