Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), announced a partnership with autonomous maritime solutions company ThayerMahan for seabed and infrastructure survey and inspection work in the waters off southern Massachusetts.Based in Groton, Conn., ThayerMahan, specializes in seabed surveys, acoustic mitigation and monitoring, and other maritime related services and has facilities in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

UK Industry trade body Mersey Maritime has announced a new trade agreement with the Isle of Man Shipping Association (IOMSA) which aims to supercharge bilateral trade, particularly among small to medium sized businesses. The agreement was announced at a special reception during the International Festival of Business in Liverpool UK and has resulted from a series of discussions facilitated by the Isle of Man Ship Registry, which is an Executive Club member of Mersey Maritime, and other IoM based companies such as software engineer PDMS, both of which are also involved with IOMSA.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney E. U.S. ship operators will gain greater access to Brazil’s government cargo business while Brazil’s carriers seeking access to U.S. markets will be assured equal treatment, under an agreement signed today by U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta and Brazilian Ambassador Roberto Abdenur in Washington, D.C. “Free trade helps everyone – shippers, carriers and most of all consumers,” Secretary Mineta said.
