Retrofit VDRs for Diamond S Tanker Fleet

Danelec Marine and global distributor Mackay Marine are nearing completion of a Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) retrofit program for Diamond S Shipping’s fleet of 30 medium-range product tankers. Mackay is installing Danelec’s new-generation DM100 VDRs on the ships as replacements for the existing VDRs, which had been installed at construction. The original products were nearing the end of their service life and were becoming very expensive to maintain. The type-approved DM100 exceeds the regulatory requirements and incorporates new features not previously available in marine VDR systems…

The new Ocean Signal E101V float-free EPIRB with integrated voyage data recorder (VDR) memory capsule is designed according to the latest VDR performance standards as a leading solution for commercial vessels of 3000+ gross tonnage. Danelec Marine's Conversion Kits for VDR Retrofits

Danelec Marine is now offering a comprehensive range of conversion kits to facilitate replacement of existing shipboard Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs). The company has created packages to replace more than 30 different models of VDRs and Simplified VDRs (S-VDRs) across all major existing and legacy brands, making it easy and less costly for shipowners to upgrade to the new technology. “Many ships are still equipped with VDRs and S-VDRs that were installed more than 10 years ago to meet the initial IMO carriage requirements,” said Danelec Marine CEO Hans Ottosen.“These systems are nearing or beyond their projected service life, and some are no longer in production or supported by their original manufacturers.

Sperry Marine Receives Type Approval for VDR

Sperry Marine won multiple type approvals from classification societies and national authorities for the VoyageMaster Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) system. LMS Completes First VDR Installation With Memory Capsule

Litton Marine Systems recently completed the first installation of a complete Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) with IMO-compliant protective memory capsule. The Litton VoyageMaster VDR system was installed on the new Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Radiance of the Seas at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Thomas A.
