Arnlea, Px Sign Six Figure Renewal Contract

Arnlea Systems, a provider of mobile technology solutions for clients working within the oil and gas sector, has announced that it has renewed its existing contract with Px Group for a further five years with a six-figure value.Aberdeen-based software specialist said that the five-year deal has been awarded by operator and duty holder Px Group for use of its IntrinsixEx  software, which speeds up the inspection and reporting process for faulty equipment.The total value of the deal has not been disclosed. Tampnet, Marlink Partner for Offshore 4G Services

Marlink and Tampnet have signed a partner agreement for the delivery of offshore Long Term Evolution (LTE) based services in the North Sea. MCPON Launches eSailor Initiative at RTC

The Navy's top enlisted Sailor, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Mike D. Stevens, was on hand to distribute the first electronic tablets (e-tablets) to the Navy's newest recruits at Recruit Training Command (RTC), April 7. The launch of the eSailor initiative is a pre-pilot, beta testing to two divisions of 70 recruits to help determine how well the device integrates into the training environment at RTC. The e-tablet will contain RTC curriculum, including training videos, texts and access to professional development websites. RTC is primarily responsible for conducting the initial Navy orientation and training of new recruits.

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings launched SeaGuard, an app that provides users with protective coating recommendations for VLCC/VLBCs, chemical tankers and OSV/PSVs. The app debuted on October 9 at The International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans. The app is optimized for both iOS and Android. The app is designed to help port engineers and fleet managers access accurate and up-to-date coatings information via mobile technology. It’s a convenient alternative to bulky binders stuffed with outdated product data sheets.

My-Villages, a marine mobile technology company, has acquired DockMaster, an information management solution provider for marine retailers, marinas and service centers. Safety-conscious Interferry Sets Sights on Perfection Myth

The trade association event takes place in Malta from October 5-9 with an agenda dominated by safety issues. Three Cruise Lines Plug into Shore Power, Port of LA

The Port of Los Angeles this month became the first port worldwide to provide Alternative Maritime Power (AMP) to three separate cruise lines. In recent weeks, ships from Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line have all taken advantage of unique “AMP Mobile” technology developed specifically for the World Cruise Center. “The use of AMP at our World Cruise Center reduces emissions not just at the Port but improves the quality of air throughout the Los Angeles region,” said Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
