100 Oil Decomposing Microorganisms Identified

Under a contract with Rosneft to create a microbial medication for northern seas signed in 2014, scientists of Moscow State University’s biological faculty have identified about 100 microorganisms able to decompose oil and petroleum products at low temperatures including below zero ones. Over one year, more than 250 samples of water have been tested in Russia’s major northern ports, as well as by the shoreline of northern cities like Murmansk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, etc. As a result, the scientists have discovered that it had taken a long time for the microorganisms to adapt, yet now they use petroleum products as food. The study has used bacterium which adapted to oil pollution in a natural way, which is why they are totally environmentally friendly.

Mongolian Citizens to be Trained in Rosneft Partner Universities

Rosneft Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin and Minister for Education and Science of Mongolia Luvsannyam Gantumur signed an Agreement to arrange the training of citizens of Mongolia in partner universities of Rosneft. The signing ceremony was led by Russian president Vladimir Putin and the president of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj in Ulan-Bator. Rosneft will assist to organization of teaching process for Mongolian citizens at Russian universities, which includes covering expenses on education, migration formalities, domestic transport, accommodation, food, and scholarship. New Director-General Appointed at Gazprom Export

Gazprom informs that due to a considerable increase in the day-to-day business and its geographical expansion, as well as product diversification within the Company’s international activities, Elena Burmistrova has been appointed Director-General of the Russian energy major's Gazprom Export subsidiary. Gazprom explains that Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee will supervise the international business sector as well as social development and sports programs. “Gazprom’s geographical expansion and far-reaching plans in the foreign markets require new structural and functional decision-making,” said Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee. Elena Burmistrova was born in Moscow.
