Finland’s new Inkoo floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) terminal on Sunday accepted its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG).The cargo, which was ordered by Elenger, the largest privately owned energy company in the Finnish-Baltic region, was delivered by multinational energy and commodity trading company Vitol.The cargo, which originates from Vitol’s Venture Global Calcasieu Pass facility in the U.S., was transported aboard Vitol's LNG carrier Vivit Americas LNG.

American multinational energy giant Chevron Corporation unveils new goals to reduce oil production-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 5% to 10% over a seven-year period ending 2023 as part of an ongoing effort to combat global climate change.The GHG emission intensity reduction metrics apply to all upstream Chevron oil and natural gas, whether Chevron has operational control or not. Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor ASA and Argentine power producer YPF Luz have joined for the development of the Cañadón León wind farm in Santa Cruz in Argentina.As per agreement, a subsidiary of Equinor will subscribe to shares in Luz del León. The shareholders of YPF Luz are YPF S.A and an affiliate of General Electric.The agreement establishes that Equinor will have a 50% stake of Luz del León, with an equity contribution of USD 30 million. After the subscription and capital integration, YPF Luz and Equinor will jointly control Luz del León, while YPF Luz will be in charge of the operations of the Cañadón León Wind Farm project.After the completion of the works…

A group of six leading Nordic industry companies has, in line with the UN sustainability goals, joined forces to solve a great societal challenge. American multinational energy corporation Chevron is working on integrating the hydrocarbon exploration company Anadarko Petroleum, even as it faces a higher rival takeover bid for the oil explorer from Occidental Petroleum Corp, said a report in Bloomberg.However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Anadarko to justify sticking with Chevron's$30.9 billion takeover as its shares gain following Occidental Petroleum higher offer."The bidding war is breaking out over Anadarko, together using Occidental making an offer it says is about a 20% premium into Chevron’s deal announced earlier this month, some rare movement not often seen from the U.S.

Houston-based subsea engineering company Oceaneering International has secured a contract renewal from Equinor, the Norwegian multinational energy company, covering the provision of maintenance, reliability and integrity management.The oilfield provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore oil and gas said in a press note that the contract, which was originally awarded to Oceaneering’s integrity business in 2005 and competitively tendered again in December 2013, is extended until December 2020.Under the agreement, Oceaneering will provide support to Equinor’s onshore and offshore facilities in Norway, covering a wide spectrum of maintenance…

Marine LNG Zeebrugge, a joint venture of the Gas4Sea partners - ENGIE, Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK - has signed an agreement with the Norwegian multinational energy group Equinor.Under the agreement, Marine LNG Zeebrugge will supply liquefied natural gas as a marine fuel to Equinor’s four crude shuttle tankers in the Dutch port of Rotterdam.The four planned dual fuel vessels are to come into service in early 2020; they will be operated by Equinor in Northern European seas.Marine LNG Zeebrugge will supply LNG using the LNG bunkering vessel ENGIE Zeebrugge which started operations in 2017. American multinational energy corporation Chevron signed a new sales and purchase agreement with South Korean oil refiner GS Caltex Corporation for the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to South Korea.As a joint venture between Chevron and GS Energy, GS Caltex has signed a long-term agreement and will begin receiving LNG in October 2019, said a press release from the U.S. oil and gas major.Chevron’s President of Global Gas, Hugh Connett stated the agreement is another indication of the significance of the long-standing relationship between Chevron and GS Caltex.“We’re proud of our partnership with GS Caltex and we welcome this opportunity to build on that relationship by supplying LNG to South Korea’s growing market…

Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor ASA and the provider of emergency rescue and response vessels Esvagt have extended their cooperation in the southern part of the Norwegian sector.The vessel provider said on Tuesday that the cooperation with Equinor was extended by a minimum of three years."Over the next three years, the Esvagt Bergen and the Esvagt Stavanger will be servicing Equinor in the southern part of the Norwegian sector," it said.Eight years of mutual trust and cooperation are about to be extended, as Equinor and Esvagt add a minimum of three years to their cooperation in the southern part of the Norwegian sector.Here…

Norwegian subsea contractor Ocean Installer and Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor ASA have signed a contract that covers the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) mooring installation, tow out and hook-up of the Johan Castberg FPSO in the Barents Sea.Johan Castberg is one of the largest subsea field developments on the Norwegian continental shelf. The project includes Skrugard, Havis and Drivis, which lies about 240 kilometers from Hammerfest and about 100 kilometers north of Snøhvit.The water depth is between 360 and 405 meters. Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor Energy has made discovery containing up to 24billion cubic feet of gas in the Barents Sea. Two exploration targets were found, with the first containing between 10 and 20billion cubic feet, the other between one and four billion.The discovery’s profitability is currently unclear, said a statement from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD)."Equinor Energy AS has completed the drilling of wildcat well  about 15 kilometres northwest of discovery well (Atlantis) and 370 kilometres north of Hammerfest. Gas4Sea partners - ENGIE, Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK - have been selected by Norwegian multinational energy group Statoil to be their liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine fuel supplier in the port of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, for four crude shuttle tankers. The four planned dual fuel vessels are to come into service in early 2020 and will be operated by Statoil in Northern European seas. Gas4Sea will supply LNG using the ENGIE Zeebrugge which started operations earlier this year. Gulf of Oman port bids to become transhipment centre for region; to more than double container capacity by 2017. Part of Oman's drive is to industrialise, diversify beyond oil. An advertisement by the highway outside Dubai's massive Jebel Ali Port tells firms they don't need to ship goods through the Strait of Hormuz, the traditional gateway to the Gulf. Instead they can have goods delivered to a port in Oman, outside the Gulf, and bring them into the region by road. "Why go through the Strait when you can go straight to the Gulf," the billboard reads, in a challenge to Jebel Ali, which has become one of the biggest ports in the world by handling many of the region's imports via Hormuz.

Kongsberg Maritime inform it has been contracted to deliver substantial technology packages for ten new pipelaying vessels ordered by Brazilian multinational energy corporation, Petrobras. In contracts valued approx. NOK 118 Million, the scope of supply includes Kongsberg Maritime's leading offshore vessel technology including Dynamic Positioning (DP), position reference systems, propulsion control and automation. Six 550-tonne laying tension capacity pipelayers will be built at IHC Merwede in The Netherlands for delivery in 2015 and 2016.

MAN Diesel has announced a series of significant orders for its two-stroke, electronic ME-engines in Brazil. The new engines will be delivered to Petrobras and Vale. Petrobras Brazil’s multinational energy company, has ordered 10 × 6S70ME-C engines to power a new generation of Suezmax tankers as part of a massive fleet-renewal programme. The Petrobras engines will be constructed by Doosan Engine in Korea with the ships being built at the new Estaleiro Atlântico Sul (EAS) shipyard.
