Big Response to WKCTC’s Open House

More than 100 city officials, educators, community members, and representatives from the river industry attended West Kentucky Community and Technical College’s open house and ribbon cutting for its Inland Logistics and Marine Institute (ILMI) August 10. Visitors toured the recently renovated 8,000 square-foot facility located at 631 Marine Way between local river businesses and Paducah's downtown. The building includes classrooms, a state-of-the-art radar lab, diesel lab, video lab and five offices. “WKCTC’s Inland Logistics and Marine Institute will allow students the opportunity to train using the latest technology as well as providing a training venue to serve the local maritime and transportation industry,” said Troy Courtney, WKCTC’s ILMI director.

Marine Underwriting Division Launched by Blades Marine

J. H. Blades's new marine underwriting division will underwrite brown water exposures for specialty retail agents and brokers. Specific coverages will include hull and liability, protection and indemnity, builder’s risk, miscellaneous marine liability, vessel pollution, excess marine liability, bumbershoots and other related marine coverages. At the helm of the new venture is David Manion, who joins Blades Marine as Executive Vice President. Manion has spent more than 20 years in marine underwriting. He has extensive experience in the brown water exposure space as well as providing London specialty marine lines wholesale broker services. He holds a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health from Murray State University in Kentucky.

News:Ingram Marine Group Promotes Three

Ingram Marine Group, an inland marine transportation companies, announced the following executive leadership promotions. Dale Heller, former Vice President and Chief Information Officer, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and CIO. Allen Oldham, previously Vice President of Finance and Business Development, and Controller, has been named Senior Vice President and Controller. Jim Lanier, who has served as Assistant Vice President of Internal Audit, Ingram Industries Inc., has been promoted to Vice President, Finance, Support Operations and Analysis. "As we continue to grow Ingram Marine Group, we are continuing to build on an already established leadership team by realigning these executives with increasing responsibilities," said Craig Philip, President and Chief Executive Officer.
