Wärtsilä Upgrades USCG Academy's Training Simulator

The technology group Wärtsilä has completed replacement of the Ship Analytics simulator solution at the United States Coast Guard Academy’s Ship Control and Navigation Training System (SCANTS) facility. The original simulator system was installed at the Academy in the 1990s, and the replacement work was carried out primarily by, and in partnership with, NavSim Services, Inc., the prime contractor. Transas to Supply TechSim Solutions to SUNY Maritime

The Navsim Services and Transas Americas Team, have been awarded contracts for supply of a combination of full mission, classroom and cloud based Transas Technical simulation (TechSim) solutions for the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College. The full mission and classroom systems are being procured to meet forthcoming new United States Coast Guard (USCG) National Maritime Center (NMC) training requirements, and include multiple models from the Transas library with the latest functional capabilities of the Transas TechSim platform.

MPT Upgrades Simulator System

Maritime Professional Training (MPT) has upgraded its simulator, and the maritime training and education provider is claiming that it will be world’s most visually realistic maritime simulator training experience. The system – which provides a true-to-life preview of a career at sea – is a result of MPT's plans to upgrade the visual projection systems of the Main Bridge located at their S.M.A.R.T. (Simulation For Maritime Assessment, Research and Training) Campus in Fort Lauderdale.
