FLNG Market Grows a CAGR of +93%

Global floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) market is growing at a CAGR of +93% during forecast period 2019-2026 as the demand for natural gas has been rising as it is a preferred fuel in power generation in various industries.According to a report from Research N Reports, the demand comes from mainly for the regions such as North America, Europe, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and India.Natural gas is cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective than other fuels. It has the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it said.Natural gas is consistently being used to substitute high pollutant fuels such as coal and fuel oil in power and industrial sectors in several countries.

Residents Flee South Texas Ahead of Harvey

Residents fleeing most powerful storm on U.S. mainland since 2005. Businesses closed and lines of cars streamed out of coastal Texas as officials called for residents to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Harvey, expected to arrive about midnight as the most powerful storm to hit the U.S. mainland in more than a decade. The hurricane is forecast to slam first near Corpus Christi, Texas, drop flooding rains along the central Texas coast and potentially loop back over the Gulf of Mexico before hitting Houston, some models showed. "My urgent message to my fellow Texans is that if you live in a region where evacuation has been ordered, you need to heed that advice and get out of harm's way while you can," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a televised address.

Hurricane Harvey intensified early on Friday into potentially the most powerful hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland in more than a decade, as authorities warned locals to shelter from what could be life-threatening winds and floods. Harvey is set to make landfall late Friday or early Saturday on the central Texas coast where Corpus Christi and Houston are home to some of the biggest U.S. refineries. Oil and gas operations have already been disrupted and gasoline prices have spiked. "Now is the time to urgently hide from the wind.

Leviathan Partners to Start Drilling in Q1 2017

The Leviathan reservoir partners announced on Sunday their plans to begin drilling a new well in the basin during the first quarter of next year, reports The Jerusalem Post. The partners announced today that work will commence in the first quarter of 2017 and a budget of $77 million has been allocated for the drilling. The first stage of the Leviathan drilling will begin immediately after completion of the drilling for the Tamar 8 gas field. The Leviathan partners are Noble Energy Inc.(39.66%) Delek Group Ltd. units Avner Oil and Gas LP and Delek Drilling LP (22.67% each) and Ratio Oil Exploration (15%). The Petroleum Commissioner in Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources approved the Leviathan development plan in June.

Oil Drillers Group to Fight U.S. Export Ban

More than a dozen U.S. oil producers have joined to lobby the federal government to reverse the 40-year-old ban on U.S. crude exports, a move that supporters hope would create jobs and boost national security, a spokesman for one of the companies and a lobbyist for another one said on Friday. Producers for American Crude Oil Exports, or PACE, is the first lobbying group to form on reversing the ban. "The end game here is legislative repeal of the ban," said a lobbyist for one of the member producers, who did not want to be named because the group was only recently formed. Congress passed the trade restriction in the 1970s after the Arab oil embargo caused fears of domestic oil shortages.

Samson Energy to Sell $1 bln Gulf of Mexico Assets

Oil and gas explorer and producer Samson Energy Company LLC is selling its offshore Gulf of Mexico assets that could fetch more than $1 billion, according to people familiar with the situation. The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company has tapped Jefferies LLC, the New York-based investment bank, to assist with the sale effort, these people said, asking not be named because the talks are private. A representative for privately-held Samson confirmed Jefferies was working on a sale process for the portfolio of wells and leases, but declined to provide further details. A Jefferies representative declined to comment. The assets up for sale include a portfolio of federal leases as well as investments in wells operated by third parties, according to the people familiar with the matter.

DSME Delivers Vessel to Atwood Oceans

Atwood Oceanics, Inc. announced today the delivery of the Atwood Advantage from the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) shipyard in South Korea. The Atwood Advantage has departed the DSME shipyard and commenced its drilling services contract with Noble Energy, Inc. Following its mobilization to the U. S. Gulf of Mexico, the Atwood Advantage will conduct a three year drilling program with Noble Energy. Subsea Well Blowout Response Tested in GofM

The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Noble Energy, Inc. and the Helix Well Containment Group (HWCG) participated in the exercise. A full-scale deployment of critical well control equipment was employed to assess  Noble Energy’s ability to respond to a potential subsea blowout in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. BSEE Director James Watson confirmed that the HWCG capping stack deployed for the exercise met the pressurization requirements of the drill scenario, marking successful completion of the exercise.

Heerema Fabrication Group contracted by Marathon E.G. Production to deliver the new Alba B3 greenfield gas compression platform. The Alba Field is a gas and condensate field located approximately 20 miles north of Bioko Island. MEGPL operates the Alba Field on behalf of itself and working interest partners Samedan of North Africa, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Noble Energy, Inc.and Compania Nacional de Petroleos de Guinea Ecuatorial. The gas compression platform is to be bridge-linked to the existing Alba B2 platform.

At the 150th Annual Meeting of the Members of ABS, three industry leaders were elected to the ABS Council. Following the Annual Meeting, the ABS Council met and elected industry leaders to both its Marine and Offshore Technical Committees. BOEMRE on Resuming Pre-Approved Activities

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) notified 13 companies whose deepwater drilling activities were suspended by last year’s deepwater drilling moratorium that they may be able to resume those previously-approved activities without the need to submit revised exploration or development plans for supplemental National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. Before resuming those activities without additional NEPA review, however, the companies must comply with BOEMRE’s new policies and regulations. “Going forward, we are substantially enhancing our environmental reviews and analysis under NEPA,” said BOEMRE Director Michael R. Bromwich.

Contract for Ultra-Deepwater Rig Sedco Express

Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG) announced that a subsidiary of Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NBL) has awarded a 455-day contract for the ultra-deepwater semisubmersible rig Sedco Express. Estimated contracted revenues related to the 455-day contract term are approximately $241m. Estimated contract revenues represent the maximum amount of revenues that may be earned in the firm contract period, excluding revenues for mobilization, cost escalations, customer reimbursed equipment and miscellaneous adjustments. The contract term is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2010 following the completion of the rig's current contract, maintenance work and mobilization.

Noble Energy Wins Offshore SAFE Award

Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE:NBL) announced that the Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS) awarded the company the 2009 Safety Award for Excellence (SAFE) in the moderate activity operator category for outstanding achievements in offshore safety, environmental protection, and pollution prevention in the Gulf of Mexico. This is the second year in a row that Noble Energy has won the SAFE award. Winners were announced at the MMS Annual Industry Awards program held in conjunction with the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas on May 7, 2009. BP Announces Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Discovery

BP Exploration & Production Inc. said a hydrocarbon discovery in an exploration well that tested its Isabela prospect in the Gulf of Mexico. The well is located on Mississippi Canyon Block 562 in approximately 6,500 feet of water, about 150 miles southeast of New Orleans. Isabela was drilled to a total depth of approximately 19,100 feet into Miocene era sands. The well is operated by BP Exploration & Production Inc. with a 67% working interest and is co-owned by Noble Energy, Inc. with a 33% working interest. The lease was acquired at federal OCS Lease Sale 169 in March, 1998.
