Grand Bahama Shipyard Expands Sales Team

Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL) has added three regional sales directors to its Marketing and Sales Division, with posts in the Americas, Europe and Asia/Middle East. According to the shipyard, their prime objectives will be to increase yard exposure, as well as develop future projects with existing and new customers for their refit, refurbishment or revitalization projects. Andre Szadzinski joined GBSL in August 2016 as Regional Sales Director for North and South America.

Roland Mower New President/CEO of Port San Antonio

Roland C. Mower who has helped bring billions of dollars in business investment and supported the creation of thousands of jobs in Texas will be Port San Antonio's next President and CEO. A business veteran who for more than 25 years has led efforts to attract and grow multi-million dollar industrial and advanced technology projects in Texas and elsewhere in the U.S. Roland Mower will begin his new leadership role on September 29. He succeeds Bruce E. Miller, who has served in that role since 2002 and announced his retirement last January. For the past nine years, Mower has been President and CEO of the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation (CCRED)—the leading economic development organization in the Texas Coastal Bend Region…

Union Pacific Line Back in Service after Derailment

U.S. railroad company Union Pacific Corp said on Monday that a rail line on which a train derailed in northern Colorado was back in service. The line, which is used about once a day, connects Windsor, which is in the Niobrara shale play in northeastern Colorado, as well as other towns in the state. The train, which was heading from Windsor to an East Coast destination, spilled 5,300 gallons of oil on Friday morning. Over the past several months, the industry has been under heightened government scrutiny due to an increase in train derailments involving oil tank cars. The amount of oil moving by rail from shale formations has risen sharply because the region is not well-connected to pipelines.
