HMS Announces Management Hires

Marine services company Harley Marine Services (HMS) has expanded its management team, naming Don Martin as Vice President and General Counsel and Steve Carlson as Vice President of Engineering, the company announced today. Prior to joining Harley Marine, Martin was the Vice President and General Counsel for Delta Western and Hawaii Petroleum where he oversaw all aspects of safety, risk management and regulatory compliance for the fuel distribution companies. Roden Joins Fairbanks Morse Engine

Fairbanks Morse Engine, an EnPro Industries (NYSE: NPO) company, announced that Paul Roden has joined the company as Vice President, Washington Operations. In this new role he will represent the company in discussions with Congress and with shipyards, as well as customers in the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. Mr. Roden joins Fairbanks Morse Engine from the U.S. Coast Guard, where he retired with the rank of Captain following a distinguished service career. Capt. Cheever Assumes Command of USCG Yard

Captain William S. Cheever recently assumed command of the U.S. Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Md. He becomes the 36th Commanding Officer in the 102-year history of the Yard, the only shipbuilding and ship repair facility of the U.S. Coast Guard. Captain Cheever took command of the Yard from Captain Alan S. Gracewski who had served as the shipyard's Commanding Officer since June, 1998. Captain Gracewki retired from the Coast Guard with 30 years service. In addition to being commanding officer of the Coast Guard's , maritime industrial facility, Captain Cheever holds the title of distinction as the U.S. Coast Guard's Gold Ancient Mariner. The honor is bestowed on the Commissioned Officer of the USCG who has the earliest date of service time at sea.
