Providing an update on the status of the on-going Greater Stella Area (“GSA”) development programme Ithaca Energy informed that the floating production facility (FPF-1) modifications programme undertaken by Petrofac in the Remontowa shipyard in Poland is in the final stages of completion, with only a limited number of commissioning activities requiring close out prior to sail-away. Commissioning operations on the FPF-1 have continued to progress well over recent weeks and are now materially complete. The operations team have been living on the vessel since May, the marine works have been finished and the engineering teams are in the process of closing out handover of the various processing and utilities systems to the operations team.

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) announced that crude oil and natural gas production has begun at the Jack/St. Malo project in the Lower Tertiary trend, deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Jack/St. Malo is a key part of Chevron's strong queue of upstream projects and was delivered on time and on budget. The Jack and St. Malo fields are among the largest in the Gulf of Mexico. Yemen resumed exports from its main oil pipeline on Saturday, one day after an attack by tribesmen temporarily halted flows, industry sources said. Yemen's oil and gas pipelines have been repeatedly sabotaged, often by tribesmen who have feuds with the central government, causing fuel shortages and slashing export earnings for the impoverished country. The last attack was on Friday when tribesmen blew up the pipeline which transports crude from Marib oil fields in central Yemen to Ras Isa on the Red Sea. Yemen has said that oil flows through the Marib pipeline, one of its main petroleum export routes, at a rate of around 70,000 barrels per day (bpd). Before the spate of attacks began three years ago, the 270-mile (435-km) pipeline carried around 110,000 barrels per day to Ras Isa.

Inchcape Shipping Services has successfully supported Saipem with a major pipe laying project in the Gulf of Mexico. Providing marine agency and logistics support for Saipem’s newest pipelay vessel Castorone during its first project in the Gulf, ISS assembled a 15 person team that provided port agency and husbandry, crew logistics services, freight forwarding, warehousing and personnel logistics throughout the 9 month project. The Castorone, which is a DP3, ice classed, pipelay vessel, was employed on the 219 kilometer long Walker Ridge oil export pipeline, which connects Chevron's Jack and St Malo fields in 2,140 meters of water, north to a Shell-operated platform in Green Canyon block 10.

Work is now well underway to build a new North Sea headquarters in Aberdeen for the U.K. independent oil producer EnQuest. Aberdeen’s Lord Provost yesterday, Tuesday, November 12, gave his seal of approval to what is set to become a new landmark building in the city. EnQuest’s new HQ will replace the derelict Aberdeen Seafood Park in the city’s harbor area. The company currently employs around 500 people at two locations in Aberdeen, and will occupy the building, which will provide accommodation for up to 800 people when completed in 2015.

Fugro-TSM, a division of Fugro Subsea Services, has been awarded the Kumul Marine Terminal Pipeline IRM (Inspection Repair Maintenance) contract by Oil Search Limited. The contract is for the provision of a DP2 DSV to support air diving services around the Kumul Marine Terminal in the Gulf of Papua, PNG. FTSM has mobilised the Rem Etive, complete with work class ROV, air diving spread and associated diver tooling to undertake the IRM works around the platform, oil export pipeline and CALM Buoy. Cal Dive International has been subcontracted to provide the air diving services.

Tata Steel has been awarded an eight-figure U.S. dollar contract to supply pipe for Enterprise Products Partners L.P.’s new crude oil export pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico’s Keathley Canyon area. The contract will see Tata Steel deliver more than 48,000 metric tons of steel pipe from its 42-inch mill in Hartlepool, England, for the Lucius Development Project, which has the capacity to produce in excess of 80,000 barrels of oil per day. Tata Steel will provide 105 miles (169 kilometres) of 18-inch diameter line pipe.

In the US sector of the Gulf of Mexico, Saipem has been awarded the contract for the Walker Ridge export pipeline, in the framework of the development of the Jack and Saint Malo (JSM) fields, by Amberjack Pipeline Company LLC, a partnership between Chevron Pipe Line Company and Shell Pipeline Company LP, located approximately 450 kilometres (280 miles) south of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the Walker Ridge area of the US Gulf. The scope of work encompasses the transportation and installation of a crude oil export pipeline, 61 cm (24 inches) in diameter, which will have a length of 220 kilometres (136 miles), reaching a maximum water depth of 2,140 metres (7,000 feet), connecting the JSM Floating Production Unit.

Saipem America has been awarded the pre-crossing mattresses installation of the 20 in. Shenzi Oil Export Pipeline Project by Enterprise Field Services, LLC. The Shenzi Field development is located in 4,400 ft. of water, approximately 120 nautical miles offshore, in the Gulf of Mexico. Scope of work includes the installation of over 250 concrete mattresses for the pre -lay phase of Enterprises’s new 83 mile export pipeline in a water depths ranging from 435 to 4,325 ft. deep. Saipem America will be utilizing the HOS Innovator and the InnovatorÒ ROV to perform the transportation and installation of the Company provided concrete mattresses in multiple mobilizations. The project is expected start in early September with a completion deadline by November 1, 2007.
