P&O Ferries Inks Performance Monitoring Deal with We4Sea

P&O Ferries and We4Sea have signed a cooperation agreement to roll-out the We4Sea Digital Twin based performance monitoring solution over the P&O Ferries chartered fleet, with the aim to reduce fuel consumption and emissions from ships. Online Tool to Help Manage Fuel Costs

We4Sea, a company focused on increasing the fuel efficiency and lower the emissions of seagoing ships, released an update of its online software platform. "The update is a next step in their mission to provide shipowners and ship charterers with improved analysis tools, and replace outdated noon-reports as the main source of management information," it said. Port of Cork Winter Seabed Plough Program

A project that has allowed the Port of Cork to precisely monitor and record the winter program of seabed ploughing in real time for the first ever time is being delivered by Succorfish in partnership with Irish marine communication specialists SEA-Tech. The exercise, which is being carried out aboard a utility vessel working to lift sediment from the port seabed into the water column and back out to sea, sees live, up-to-the-minute and highly valuable location data transferred back to officials instantly in real time.

Demand for ICOMIA's KEEL-CHECKER

The ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) Secretariat is pleased to report a significant industry interest in the recently-launched KEEL-CHECKER. So far, the Secretariat has received over 130 enquiries regarding the online software. KEEL-CHECKER was launched in March of this year. It is a tool for assessing whether keel designs are within the parameters of the new standard ISO 12215 Part 9, which has gone into Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) voting. Although the new standard has still a few months to go until publication, many organizations already require compliant keel designs. KEEL-CHECKER was developed by Dr. Robin Loscombe, a member of the ISO working group and a senior lecturer at Southampton Solent University.

Jeppesen, a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has teamed with Furuno and MapMedia to develop NavNet 3D-compatible C-MAP by Jeppesen vector charts.
