ABS Grants Its Software Quality Management Notation for OOS Serooskerke Semi-sub

OOS Walcheren Starts its Engines

Netherlands-based OOS International has revved up the engines on its newbuild semi-submersible heavy lift crane accommodation vessel OOS Walcheren for the first time.The OOS Walcheren is currently under construction at China Merchants Heavy Industries (Jiangsu) Shipyard, said a press note from the Dutch offshore company .The OOS Walcheren is the sister vessel of the OOS Serooskerke, which is presently undergoing the final stages of commissioning before heading out for sea trials. Her expected delivery is within Q1 2020.The construction of OOS Walcheren commenced on the 24th May 2018 and it has taken 16 ½ months to start up her engines, which has bettered the OOS Serooskerke record by 10 days and less man-hours.

China Merchants Offshore Technology Research Center (CM-OTRC), the R&D center for China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMI) of Shenzhen, China, have completed the basic design of the OOS Zeelandia a new semisubmersible crane vessel (SSCV) that, when built, will have the largest lifting capacity in the world. OOS Serooskerke Undocked at CMHI Jiangsu

China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) Jiangsu shipyard has undocked OOS Serooskerke, OOS International's newest semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV)."The undocking operation was complex because of the limited water depth in the dry dock," said a press release from the company.The close comradery between CMHI and OOS proved to be a winning formula to devising an efficient and safe method to undock the vessel, it said. The planning of the undocking operation started as early as January 2018 and ran through several iterations before the team arrived at the final plan.Due to the lack of water depth within the dry dock, three barges (stacked on top of one another) were floated underneath the OOS Serooskerke, between the pontoons.

CMHI, DNV GL Ink LoI for Two Jack-ups

DNV GL announced it has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with shipyard China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd (CMHI) for the classification of two multi-activity jack-up units at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston.Ordered by OOS Energy B.V., which is affiliated with Netherlands-based Overdulve Offshore Services (OOS) International, these 96 m long units will be purpose-built for the decommissioning market. Holding OOS International Group B.V. said it is working with China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH) to design and build what will be the world’s largest semi-submersible crane vessel (SSCV), OOS Zeelandia. New Crane Orders for Huisman

•    1 x 5,000mt Tub Mounted Crane for Allseas. The cranes will be built at the Huisman production facilities in The Netherlands, Czech Republic and China. Deliveries are scheduled for end 2017, 2018 and 2019. The two 900mt Heavy Lift Mast Cranes for BigLift Shipping are envisaged for Biglift’s third Happy S-type vessel ‘Happy Sun’. The new built vessel is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2018. The 1,600mt Leg Encircling Crane for Van Oord will replace the existing 900mt crane onboard their offshore installation jack-up ‘Aeolus’. The new crane will enable Van Oord to install bigger and heavier foundations and turbines for offshore wind farms. The crane will be delivered and installed in the first quarter of 2018.

Ng Pock Appointed Dy Chair of OSS Asia Pacific

Two High-tech SSCVs Ordered in China

Holding OOS International Group B.V. confirms it has signed a fixed contract for the engineering and construction of two new build Semi-Submersible Crane Vessels (SSCV) with China Merchant Industry Holdings, a fully owned subsidiary of the China Merchant Group. “OOS took a quantum leap within the oil and gas/wind Industry,” said Léon Overdulve, Founder and owner of Holding OOS International Group B.V. OOS will equip its two new SSCVs named OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren with two heavy lift cranes, with a total dual lifting capacity of 4,400T per vessel.

OOS Enters Long Term Contract with Petrobras

OOS International B.V., a company providing offshore accommodation services, announced that with support from CIMC Capital it has secured a four-plus-four-year charter contract for two semisubmersible crane and accommodation platforms for Petrobras Brazil. OOS International has scheduled the delivery of the two vessels to Petrobras at the start 2014. The OOS Gretha DP3 can accommodate 618 persons on board and sister vessel the OOS Prometheus can accommodate 500 persons on board.

OOS Secures 10 Month Charter

OOS International B.V., an offshore services company that provides offshore accommodation services, announced that it officially secured a 10-month 250 Pax DPII time charter contract plus options for the Halani Group, chartering the vessel Halani 1 to Acergy-/Exxon. The vessel will be operated by the Halani Group and will work offshore Angola. “This is a significant achievement for the company; we were able to complete such a unique transaction over the course of 200 days.
